Beat the heat with one of summer’s hottest looks—shorts. From skimpy hot pants, to bermudas, culottes, and pedal pushers. Seeing the stores’ latest rack displays is like a weird throwback to the 80s. But after a 20-year absence, the look is fresh once more.

Choose from basic whites and khakis, nautical navy blues, preppy stripes and plaids, or sexy animal prints. And yes, even bloomers are back! Thankfully, the new styles are still cut low-waist (more forgiving for most body types). If you want the illusion of a high waist, tie a belt over your top.

Rockwell Vintage Bazaar

Following the success of last season’s Rockwell Vintage Bazaar, last weekend’s Summer Chic Vintage Bazaar, held at Rockwell’s air-conditioned tent, may well be the chicest, most anticipated, well-attended, socialite-infested bazaar I have seen.

The young designers who sold their goods are celebs in their own right, but among the shoppers were top magazine editors, stylists, models, heiresses, and the like. True, it is not exactly a haven for “cheap finds,” but rather a place for the fashionista who posseses a natural flair for style and an eye for quality. It wasn’t a huge venue, but each stall was browse-worthy. I scored quite a few finds (mostly accessories)—I wish I had more time to shop!
