Stacked heels have flooded international runways in seasons past but here in the Philippines, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a pair that fits within most Pinays’ budgets. While going around the malls last weekend, I was delighted to find a great collection of these hip heavyweights bearing the name Twinky Tabs. Although the label is fairly new, it has won over fashion insiders with its quirky, of-the-moment styles that you won’t find anywhere else. Pair the green peep-toe platforms with a slim-fit denim skirt and a white tank cinched with a waist belt for a casual chic look. The striking gold and orange hardware on a strappy pair sets off flowy skirts and dresses fabulously. Channeling homme appeal? Try the square-toed pump with a crisp button down, sleeves rolled up haphazardly then tucked into a pair of skinny jeans. With prices ranging from P875-P2650, you’ll be tempted to snap up more than one pair!
Twinky Tabs is available in Otto Glorietta 1, Harrison Plaza, Market! Market! And Cinderella Megamall and Alabang Town Center.

There are shoppers and there are shoppers. There are those who shop only for what they need, and those who shop for the sake of shopping itself. At The House of Laurel, shopping is not an act, it’s an experience. Rajo Laurel’s loyal clients will note that every time a new collection is out, his store also changes its look. From winter wonderland, to geisha-inspired, and sometimes, when in transition, a minimalist and modern look. Fortunately for Rajo, his shop at a side street near Rockwell is free from the clutches of mall magnates who will never allow perpetual week-long shutdowns for renovation. Rajo, in the throes of passion over his baby’s latest makeover, is also not to be trifled with! His latest glam punk collection is called Ghetto Fabulous, and The House of Laurel will unveil its new face on Wednesday, June 14th.
