the-face-shop-01.jpgFrequent travelers to Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore and other Asian countries would probably recognize this new beauty stop that made its way to the local scene just recently. TheFaceShop, Korean’s leading cosmetic and skincare retailer with almost 500 shops worldwide, has opened its first store in the Philippines at the heart of Glorietta. Well-known for its environment-friendly cosmetics, which are luxurious in feel but affordable in price, the strength of the products lies in the fact that they are all made out of natural ingredients which the company feels is the secret to keeping skin healthy and naturally beautiful. TheFaceShop also has a bath and body line and hair and coloring products for both men and women. Their latest product is Wrinkle Stop, which promises to reduce fine lines and give skin a healthy new glow. My personal purchases during their opening day included a nail polish remover, pearl eyeliner pencil in blue (nice metallic sheen perfect for gimiks!), a cream blush in rosy pink shade, and a tube of lipgloss—all of which are now part of my beauty arsenal.  There’s an ongoing promotion for a limited period only.  If you buy P800 worth of products in a single receipt, they’ll give you a cute heart-printed cosmetic case that looks like Le Sportsac for free!

These products make showering a more blissful experience:

Eyeshadows (P355) and lipsticks (P500) are available in various shades to complement every skin color and to fit your changing beauty moods.

The calendula line is perfect for those who want solution to their problematic skin. The ointment from this flower is known to cure various skin conditions. The grape peeling gel reduces pimple scars while ladies who have severely dry skin would benefit from the moisturizing properties of the Calendula hydra essence.

  18. Kim of The Face Shop Says:

    @curly_sue
    Rest assured that all our products are made from the finest materials. Based from personal experience, my nails are still healthy and not yellow after using The Face Shop’s nail polish even as I type this now.

    @Erika
    In Korea, the word “hypoallergenic” is not really used. However, all the have been formulated to contain the mildest ingredients from natural sources. Generally, our products are suited for all skin types. We do have have specific products that would works best for sensitive skins like yours.

    @Angela
    We have two kinds of liquid foundation available. The Phytogenic Foundation costs Php795 while the Professional Foundation costs Php355. The price difference is because Phytogenic Foundation contains SPF 10, which would protect the skin from harmful UV-Rays while Professional Foundation does not have SPF.

    @Tina
    Tentatively, The Face Shop SM North EDSA would open the end of the month while SM Mall of Asia does not a definite date as of the moment. We will also be opening a branch in Robinson’s Galleria around September.

    @kaRen
    For pimple scars, we would recommend the White Tree because the main function of the products is to whiten, even out, and moisturize the skin. Uneven skin tone is usually caused by pimple marks and blemishes, which the White Tree line works best for. As for pimples, we would recommend the Quick and Clean line where it controls sebum (oil), which causes pimple breakouts. A mix of both product lines would be the best to have an even complexion and pimple free skin.

    @noelle
    Suyen Corporation is the exclusive franchisee of The Face Shop here in the Philippines - currently there are no plans to open up sub-franchisees.

  19. tigerlily Says:

  25. kaycee Says:

  26. Kim of The Face Shop Says:

    @tigerlily
    Both THEFACESHOP and MISSHA are cosmetic brand shops from Korea. The Face Shop is the number 1 Korean cosmetic brand in the market as validated by studies done by AC Nielsen, an international research firm. What differentiates THEFACESHOP is its focus on naturalism, offering and promoting nature-inspired products at prices that make them affordable luxuries.

    @jasmine0501
    We have two types of powder foundation, Dewy Flower Soft Touch Pressed Powder and Phytogenic Powder Foundation SPF20. Both products covers blemishes and give a natural looking make up finish. Dewy Flower Soft Touch Pressed Powder moisturizes the skin and leaves it with a soft texture while Phytogenic Powder Foundation SPF20 provides protection from harmful UV rays. As for blushers, we have 4 shades and the shades would range from pink to brown. For your skin tone, we would suggest lighter shades like light beige to natural beige for powder foundation and pinkish brown shades for blusher. However, it will be best to visit our store so that you can try out the different shades that would best suit your skin type and color.

    @sofia
    Most of our products especially the skin care line is safe for pregnant women. However, if one is pregnant, one should not use of the essential and massage oils to avoid the risk of overactivating one’s senses.

    @Rebecca
    The exclusive franchisee of The Face Shop in the Philippines is Suyen Corporation. You can reach us via feedback@tfsphil.com and (02) 8872311.

    @Anonymous
    The Face Shop SM North EDSA will be located at 4th floor of The Block. We will open by mid-September.

  27. drStef Says:

    sofia,
    it’s best to consult a dermatologist if you are pregnant. there are a lot of products that are actually teratogenic (meaning dangerous to your baby) which can be found in skin products. a famous example is hydroquinone. so if you ahve any doubts at all, better get an appointment with a doctor. just a friendly suggestion :)

  28. eiyu Says:

    ei, would like to ask which among the lines would be best for guys and how much would the products cost?

  29. Kim of The Face Shop Says:

    @eiyu
    We have four men’s skincare lines that have different functions, which are Pure for Men, Herb&Relief, Perfect Homme, and Classic Homme. Pure for Men is a skincare line that is low in alcohol, oil and fragrance which is made from bamboo and other botanical extracts that purifies the skin. Herb&Relief is the skincare line for men who regularly shaves and would want products with a cool, refreshing texture. Perfect Homme, on the other hand, is the brightening and whitening skincare line for men that evens out skin tone and fades dark spots and blemishes. And Classic Homme would be the anti-aging and anti-wrinkle skincare line for men. We also have unisex skin care lines like Quick & Clean that controls excess sebum production and combats pimple breakouts and Pore Minimizer that controls excess sebum built up, tightens pores, and moisturizes pores for smoother skin. Prices would vary from Php395-Php845. We would suggest that you visit the store to learn more about the products and identify which line would be best suited for the needs of the person who will be using the product.

  30. robyn Says:

    hi, my friend visited the store earlier wanting to buy the calendula grape peeling gel. she was told thefaceshop does not carry that specific product.

  31. currystrumpet Says:

    does the face shop carry any good makeup removers? been looking for a good one that’s not too oily…

  32. Kim of The Face Shop Says:

    @currystrumpet
    We actually have a liquid make up remover called Herb Day Lip and Eye Make Up Remover but unfortunately, it’s out of stock as of the moment. We also have cleansing creams, which is available in two kinds. The Dewy Flower Cleansing Cream and the Herb Day Cleansing Cream in Black Sugar and Green Tea.

  33. currystrumpet Says:

    oh that’s too bad. when do you expect to have new stock? and does the cleansing cream also work well as a makeup remover?

  34. Kim of The Face Shop Says:

    @currystrumpet
    We’re not entirely sure on when we would have stocks of the Herb Lip and Eye Make Up Remover. The cleansing cream works as well as the Herb Lip and Eye Make Up Remover. The main difference would be that the cleansing cream is cream based while the Herb and Lip Make Up Remover is liquid based.

  35. anne sy Says:

    your branch in the block, is it open already? i’ve been wanting to visit the face shop but our place is quite far.i live in bulacan.

    I got to know your shop and became intrested in it because i am a big fan of kwon sang woo who is the male endorser of the products. i understand he’ll be visiting the Philippines soon courtesy of the face shop.

    Do you have promos in line with his coming? I would greatly appreciate your reply. Thanks a lot!

  37. anjela Says:

    Any idea kng how much un Luminating Loose Pearl Powder and Perfect Stick Concealer? Ok ba yun concealer nila compared to Cinema Secrets or MAC Concealer?

  38. Kim of The Face Shop Says:

    @anne sy
    Hi, our branch in The Block, SM North EDSA is already open. It is located on the 4th floor near the Bench Body botique.
    As for Kwon Sang Woo, he is our male endorser together with So Young Ko, another top actress in Korea. KSW’s visit in the Philippines is still in the works and nothing is final yet. But we would update you as soon as everything is final.
    Right now, we have an ongoing promotion, Gift Time with The Face Shop 2, which will entitle the buyer either a The Face Shop moble string or an Arsainte hamper for a minimum purchase of P1000 and P2000 respectively.

    @achel and anjela
    The Phytogenic Powder Foundation SPF20 costs P795 and is available in three colors: pure beige, natural beige, and light beige. On the other hand, the Luminating Loose Pearl Powder costs P615 and is available in two colors, peach and violet.
    As for the Perfect Stick Concelaer, it is priced at P445. 39. Erika Says:

    hi, i’m interested in the phytogenic makeup base, how much is it sold? what’s the difference between the violet and green one?

  40. Kim of The Face Shop Says:

    @Erika
    Hi, the Phytogenic Make Up Base SPF8 costs Php795. We also have another line called Professional Make Up Base that is solded at Php355. The difference would be that the Phytogenic Make Up Base has a SPF8 while the Professional Make Up Bases doesn’t. With regard to the color, the green one is for people who have red or pimpled skin. Green would cover and correct the red spots caused by pimples. On the other hand, purple would brighten one’s skin to achieve a glowing and even effect.

  41. anjela Says:

    Thanks for the info. i’m thrilled to go to face shop anytime soon.

    Btw, what’s the difference between peach and violet of the Luminating Loose Pearl Powder colors?

  42. margherita Says:

    i have the same question with anjela about the luminating loose pearl powder.

    i recently went to the block and it seems that they dont have a lot of stocks there compared to glorietta.

  43. achel Says:

    Is it true that TheFaceShop is on sale today? Which items? :)

  44. question Says:

    @ ms. kim
    hi! i am male and i read that the ‘TheFaceShop’ has its own male-products line. What specific products should i buy?
    My problems are: I have oily skin especially in the T-zone area. It tends to breakout with large pimples and because of the oiliness, my pimples start to have ‘pus’(yellowish fluid) in it after a couple of hours. Also, according to a dermatologist i once went to for consultation, my pimples tend to scar easily that’s why right now, pimple marks/scars are also my problem.
    I just want to keep it less oily, stop the breakouts as much as possible and to erase the scars.
    Hope you can help me.
    thanx!

  45. Kim of The Face Shop Says:

    @anjela and margherita
    The difference between peach pearl and violet pearl of the Luminating Loose Powder is that violet pearl would be best for brightening dull skin while peach pearl would be a skin tone color. Both colors will accentuate the skin with a rich pearl for a more radiant appearance.
    Due to the limited space, The Face Shop in The Block, SM North EDSA does not carry all of the products. However, we made sure that the store carries the new items and bestsellers.

    @achel
    We are not implementing any sales as of the moment but we will inform everyone if there would be one.

    @question
    For your oil and acne problem, we would recommend the Quick and Clean line which is a unisex product. The main ingredients would be tea tree, chamomile, and cyprus. These ingredients heals wounds and pimples, effectively removes sebum (oil) and soothes and sanitizes skin. The Quick & Clean line has a Mild Foam Wash, Sebum Control Toner, Hydro Fluid, Mild Emulsion, Oil Free Moisturizing Cream, Oil Free Sun Cream SPF35 PA++, First Aid gel, and Clarifying Body Mist.
    As for the pimple scars, we would recommened the Perfect homme line, which is formulated especially for men who wants to brighten and even out their skin tone while fading dark spots and blemishes. It’s main ingredient, Arbutin, lightens dark spots and brightens the skin while Peony and Arrowroot controls sebum and aid in the purification of the skin to prepare it to absord lightening agents better. The Perfect Homme line has a Refreshing Toner, Whitening Emulsion, and hitening Essence.
    it would be best to visit our store in Glorietta or The Block, SM North EDSA to see the the products and consult our beauty advisers.

  46. Sharon Says:

    Yes i tried their nail polish and not too bad:)

  47. badet Says:

    I bought Delicious Lip Gloss and the hand cream. The lip gloss is nice. I have yet to see the results for my hand cream.

    By the way Ms. Kim, how come your space on SM The Block is quite small? It would be nice if there’s plenty of space in the store for us to test your products comfortably and not worrying if we accidentally stumbled on your products. I also happened to pass by Elianto and their store is bigger than The Face Shop.

  48. Kim of The Face Shop Says:

    @Sharon
    Thanks, we have new colors and it is available in our Glorietta branch. Hope you can try it.

    @badet
    Thank you also for your comment on our Delicious Lip Gloss. We hope you’ll also be satisfied with the hand cream.
    True, The Face Shop, The Block is needed quite small but we made sure to put the all the top selling products in that branch. Our store in Glorietta is more spacious and we’re opening another branch in SM Mall of Asia by October. Hope to see you there!

  49. achel Says:

    Also would like to ask how much the automatic aual pearl pencils are and the stik shadows.

  56. aiya Says:

    Hi Ms. Kim! Wow thanks so much for patiently answering all of my questions. Youve been very helpful. Btw, may I know what line you have for whitening & brightening. Also, for prevention of pimple breakouts. Thans again for all your help. Have a great week.

  57. Kim of The Face Shop Says:

    @achel
    The Black Label Blusher is priced at Php355 and weighs 3grams each. We have 4 colors - Romantic Pink, Blooming Peach, Cute Orange, and Glittering Brown.

    The Automatic Dual Pearl Pencil costs Php325 and is available in four colors - white, slate blue, lavander, and silver. The Stick Shadow on the other hand, costs Php355 and is available in seven colors - white, pink, blue, violet, tangerine, ice green, and apple green.

  59. huns Says:

    What’s the difference between Dewy Flower Soft Touch Pressed Powder and Phytogenic Powder Foundation? Could you elaborate more on their active ingredients & composition? Which of them is suited more for combination or acne prone skin?

  60. jil Says:

    I love the Face Shop’s products! I was able to initially get the peel off face mask and the changpo magic straight conditioner and I really loved the results! So off I went to the glorietta store again to get the yoghurt mask and the changpo magic straight treatment. I also got a mobile tag as a freebie!

  62. andi Says:

  63. alex Says:

    Hi Ms. Kim, I have a male friend who has a problem w/ uneven skin tone, he has a fair skin, but there are parts of his body that are much darker than the rest and he is looking for a product that he can use from head to toe that would be able to even out his tone w/o making him whiter. He is not the usual vain guy so he only wants one product, like a cream or something to use for his entire body(face, neck, underarms, groin, elbow, knee, feet), sorry to elaborate, he is just specific. What would be your best recommendation? Thanks!

  64. katienics Says:

    To Jil: Is changpo magic straight conditioner really effective? kc i have buhaghag hair. Might try this product.

  69. chicxlette Says:

    I went to The Face Shop yesterday and tried their Frizz control Stylist Wax. Sobrang effective! I have some curly hair but I’m naturally straight, it was damage due to constant rebond and other chemicals. When I tried the product, d siya matigas sa hair and malambot ang labas. I bought that one and would definitely like to try the Keratin line for the hair.

  70. genie Says:

    hi kim! hope you can have a forum or a site customized for the Filipino customers, probably with prices in it, so more topics can be discussed.

    a month ago, i bought soft peeling gommage and first clear solution but due to my tight budget i wasnt able to buy the last product in your special peeling system. actually, i dont have much idea of what those products do. i would appreciate some information. and i wasnt able to buy the last product of your peeling system. would i experience faster results if i bought the 3rd product?

    in addition, what basic make-up products would you recommend that wont cost me a lot?

    btw, your glorietta staff are friendly. ;)

  71. Mhoirae Says:

    When will you be carrying the Changpo Magic Straight shampoo?
    I’ve been using the conditioner and loved it but everytime I visit your store they tell me that you don’t have the shampoo yet. How come?

    The difference between Dewy Flower Soft Touch Pressed Powder and Phytogenic Powder Foundation would be that the former has a very light and sheer coverage as compared to the latter. Also, Phytogenic Powder Foundation has SPF20, which would protect the skin from harmful UV rays.
    For combination or acne prone skin, we would recommend the Phytogenic All Day Control Pressed Powder SPF10 PA+, which effectively removes sebum (oil) for a long lasting matte finish. It also has SPF10 that would protect the skin from harmful UV-rays and PA+ that protects from UVA that hastens aging.

    @jil
    Thank you for the very endearing comments and we do hope that you’d continue supporting our products.
    The Keratin Intensive line, Aloe soap, and the White Tree Vita Force Eye Serum are very good choices.
    The Keratin Intensive line is specially formulated for those with chemically treated hair that repairs and replenished lost protein while making hair soft and manageable.
    The Aloe soap is our best seller among the Handmade Soap with it’s sweet smell and also the hydration it provides to our skin.
    And the White Tree Vita Force Eye Serum brightens, hydrates, and revitalizes eye areas to reduce dark circles or eye bags while protecting it from external pollution and elements.

    @alexa
    Unfortunately, we do not carry oral health products as of the moment but we would inform everyone if we would be carrying those products.

    @andi
    We actually have a product called Black Label Highlighter that comes in 1 color, Shimmering Pearl. This can also be used as a highlighter and costs Php355.
    The Sparkling Pearl Powder in white can also be used as highlighter to open up the eyes and to give features like the cheekbone more definition.
    As for the Luminating Loose Powder, it can be mixed with the Sparkling Pearl Powder for a shimmering body powder.

    @alex
    I think it would be best that your friend would first consult a dermatologist regarding his skin problem. He might have skin allergies that a certified medical practitioner can diagnose and prescribe treatment or antibiotics.
    It would be easy to recommend a product that we feel can correct dark spots and even out skin tone but having no idea about his medical history, it would be unsafe to recommend a product, which could have a negative effect on your friend. We value the trust that you have in our products but we also look out for the welfare of our customers and if we feel that a dermatologist or a skin specialist is more apt for a certain situation, we would no doubt recommend a visit with the doctor.

    @katienics
    The Changpo Magic Straight line is made from Iris extracts, which has been used by Korean women for centuries in keeping their hair moisturized, silky and shiny.
    As for the Changpo Magic Straight Conditioner, it has silicon oil that coats and protects brittle hair for greater manageability.

    @tati
    We actually have new shades of nail polish available at our Glorietta and Mall of Asia branches and there will be more shades available before the year ends.
    As of the eye shadows, we will be launching two new lines within the year where the colors have a high degree of shimmer and pearl effect. Do watch out for it and we’ll make sure to update you guys when it’s available in our stores.

    @jacqueline
    I would recommend that you consult your stylist or salon if using a conditioner would be ok for relaxed hair. However, I understand that relaxed hair should be conditioned more often and shampooed less than normal hair since it would keep the hair soft and manageable. Changpo Magic Straight Conditioner performs exactly the same function – make hair smooth and manageable.

    @chicxlette
    I think the Keratin line would be perfect for you since you mentioned that your hair is damaged due to constant rebonding and other chemicals. Do try the Keratin Intensive Shampoo, Conditioner, and Treatment and give us feedback on the effect on your hair. Goodluck!

    @genie
    A forum would be very nice although as of the moment, we can be reached via our email, feedback@tfsphil.com or through this web log or visit any of our branches at Glorietta, The Block SM North EDSA, and SM Mall of Asia.
    The Special Peeling System is actually a 3-step exfoliating system for a silky smooth skin. The products contain jewel powders that protect and improve the skin’s elasticity. The Special Peeling System is much more gentle than existing exfoliators and the results are instant. Each product in the Special Peeling System has a specific function in the turnover of old, dull, and dry skin to a healthy, glowing, and moisturized skin.
    The Soft Exfoliating Gommage is a mild facial scrub that gently removes old dead surface skin to prepare the skin for the First Clear Solution that would promote cell renewal and wipe off any remaining skin debris. After the first two steps, apply a toner before proceeding to the third step, which is the Turn Over Silky Serum that increases moisture retention and leaves the skin silky smooth to touch. It will also protect the skin from harmful external pollutants.
    As for make up products, I could say that The Face Shop has a wide range of make up products that would be suitable for different skin types and complexions. Also, our products are very affordable and most make up would be below Php1000 each. It really depends on what product would you like but I would recommend the basics – foundation, concealer, powder, blush, eye shadow, mascara, lipstick and gloss.
    For the foundation, we have the Phytogenic Foundation SPF10 (Php795) and Professional Foundation (Php355) that is available in different shades. The Face Shop has two kinds of concelaer, the compact type called Dewy Flower Perfect Skin Cover (Php595) and a stick type called Perfect Stick Concealer (Php445). We have a wide array of powders that is available in two lines, the Dewy Flower line (Php525-Php595) and Phytogenic SPF10 line (Php695-Php795). The Black Label Blusher (Php355) is available in four shades and a new line of blushers coming soon. Choose the perfect shade of eye shadows that will compliment your eyes from our Freshian line (Php265) and the Black Label line (Php355). We will also be having two new lines of eye shadows in the coming months. The Face Shop has a lot of mascaras like the Multi-effect Mascara (Php445), Glamour Mascara (Php445), Curling Mascara (Php265), Freshian Volumizing Mascara (Php265), and Volume Mascara (Php365). We have extensive range of lip products that would match your moods and won’t hurt the pocket. This would include the Black Label Lipstick (Php355), Sparkling Lips (Php525), High Gloss Lipstick (Php445), Moist Matte Lipstick (Php395), Classic Lip Gloss (Php355), Delicious Lip Gloss (Php195), Rainbow Lip Gloss (Php395), and Black Label Pot Lip gloss (Php395).
    I would highly suggest that you visit any of our branches at Glorietta, The Block SM North EDSA, and SM Mall of Asia so that you can try first hand the make up products and decide on which product would best suit your needs.

    @Mhoirae
    Glad to hear that you loved the Changpo Magic Straight Conditioner. Hopefully, the Changpo Magic Straight Shampoo will be available before the year ends.

    Please do visit our newest branch in SM Mall of Asia located at the 2nd Floor, Entertainment Mall near the cinemas.

What products do you suggest? and is Changpo Magic Straight conditioner mild enough not to irritate sensitive skins?

  78. Kim of The Face Shop Says:

    @jacqueline and mimi
    The White Tree line is a complete line of products that is formulated with Vitamin Tree extract that brightens and clarifies the skin for a radiant, flawless skin and lightens dark sports and pigmentations. This line consists of the following: White Tree Skin Refiner (Php995), White Tree Vita Force Emulsion (Php995), White Tree Vita Force Serum (Php995), White Tree Vita Force Eye Serum (Php1195), White Tree Dual Protect Cream SPF15 (Php995), White Tree Vita Force Cream (Php995), White Tree Bright Granule Cleansing Foam (Php595), White Tree Vita Bright Pack (Php545), White Tree Sleeping Cream (Php855), White Tree Bright Mask Sheet (Php165), and soon to arrive White Tree Spot Corrector (Php1195).

    The recommended daily steps to follow with the use of the complete line would be the following:
    1. White Tree Bright Granule Cleansing Foam
    2. White Tree Vita Bright Pack / White Tree Bright Mask Sheet – Once a week
    3. White Tree Skin Refiner
    4. White Tree Vita Force Serum
    5. White Tree Vita Force Eye Serum
    6. White Tree Vita Force Emulsion
    7. White Tree Spot Corrector (Coming soon!)
    8. White Tree Dual Protect Cream SPF15 – Daytime / White Tree Vita Force Cream – Nighttime
    9. White Tree Sleeping Cream – Once a week

    The White Tree Bright Granule Cleansing Foam has granules that gently massage the skin for a natural exfoliation of dead surface skin cells for a clear and clean skin. Similar to the Bright Granule Cleansing Foam, the White Tree Vita Bright Pack is a peel off pack that can be used once a week to lift dead surface skin cells for a radiant and healthy skin. After exfoliating, it would be recommended to use the White Tree Bright Mask Sheet, which has Vitamin Tree and moisturizing botanical extracts that will leave skin clear and moisturized. The line’s toner, White Tree Skin Refiner, would lift dead skin cells to promote cellular turnover for lighter and even toned skin. The White Tree Vita Force Serum and Vita Force Eye Serum is a light and fast absorbing essence that combats dull skin by keeping it illuminated, moisturized, and evens out skin tone. As for the eyes, it can reduce dark circles under the eyes while protecting it from the harsh external environment. A very light moisturizer, the White Tree Vita Force Emulsion clarifies the skin to promote radiant and healthy skin. The revolutionary, patent pending White Tree Spot Corrector is a remarkably effective product that is made from pure and concentrated Vitamin C. It clarifies freckles, blemishes and dark spots to even out the skin tone and have effortless and naturally beautiful skin. The White Tree Dual Protect Cream SPF15 not only moisturizes the skin, it also protects it from harmful UV rays that causes discoloration and possibly, skin cancer. For nighttime use, the White Tree Vita Force Cream would inhibit melanin production that would leave the skin glowing and fresh. And the White Tree Sleeping Cream would rejuvenate the aiding in the process of whitening and brightening.

    @kayekaye
    Atopic Dermatitis is a skin condition that would need a medical practitioner’s opinion on which products would be ok to use. Our Atopic Therapy line, which is formulated with Evening Primrose and Camellia Oil to protect and soothe sensitive skin, is designed for children aged 1-10 who suffers from atopic dermatitis. However, using these products would be insufficient for adults with atopic dermatitis especially for the facial care although products for the body can be used. Also, we must stress that our products are cosmetics and not medicinal, which means that it will only alleviate the skin condition and not actually cure it. To lessen the risk of allergic reactions, we would recommend that the product be tested on the wrists or bend the ear to ensure that the person would not have a negative reaction to the product.

    As for the Changpo line, it is a relatively mild product and does not contain any harsh ingredients but it is not formulated for sensitive skin. In the course of selling the Changpo line here in the Philippines and abroad, THEFACESHOP has not encountered any complains with regard to the product. Again, we would like to reiterate the importance of testing the products before actual usage.

    @candilicious
    Hi, Im’m actually part of the Marketing team that handles THEFACESHOP. I would suggest that you would get in touch with our brand manager, Vichael Angelo Roaring at 8872311 local 209 or email us at feedback@tfsphil.com. Thanks

  82. matt Says:

    @karen: you’re currently on accutane? doesn’t it have a lot of side effects esp in the long run? i’ve never tried accutane since i’ve gone to a lot of dermas for my acne treatment. is it really effective?

  89. karen Says:

    i have been on it for 3 weeks and i am slowly seeing the results. the derma monitors me and i had med exams to make sure that i can use it. no side effects seen so far.

  90. mari Says:

    i find the prices a lot cheaper in the philippines. I use white tree and calendula and i’m very happy with these products. They really work, my freckles are lighter and my skin is firmer. Even their lipstick brand is great easy to apply and doesn’t cake although they’re not long wearing. I might try the powder foundation, are they better than shiseido and dior?

  91. genie Says:

    what product can you suggest for eyebags? and do you have mineral foundations?

  92. clara Says:

  95. Joeii Says:

    I first saw TFS in HongKong early this year and got really curious on their all-natural line (ofcourse their cute endorser gave me an extra push). Bought a few stuff and definitely liked it! Their Changpo Hair COnditioner is great for my hair. The Pore Minimizer Cover Up actually works. My face is oily and shiny on the T-Zone area. I just apply it before putting on powder and my face is shine free. Their nail polish is good too! I’m glad that TFS is now available here in the Phil. so my supply is steady.

  102. Nikki Says:

    do they have a website?

  103. dak_angel Says:

    i’ve tried the hair care line of The Face Shop and i’d say it works for me. I just got my hair rebonded a few months ago and i knew I had to buy a shampoo and conditioner that will leave my rebonded hair smooth, silky and shiny. I first tried the Keratin Intensive conditioner and may hair was soooo soft all day, smells great too. Too bad the conditioner was out of stock already when I went back to buy a new bottle. So I opted for the Changpo Magic Straight conditioner and what do you know, the effect is the same plus i noticed that my hair is super bagsak like i just got rebonded yesterday. and yeah the Frizz control cream works for me too. So now am using the Keratin Intensive Shampoo, Changpo magic straight conditioner and the Frizz control wax and my hair never looked this good. =) The next step is to try their make up line. =)

  104. jc Says:

    i bought a white mud nose pack and i was wondering how many times per week can i use it, thanks :)

    Hi! I have a question about mixing two product lines. I have acne prone skin with large pores. Can I use both the Quick and Clean line and the Pore Minimizer line? Like maybe using the Pore Minimizer line at night time only and Quick and Clean during the day? Would that be a problem? or do I have to stick with only one of the product lines?

  113. babyastig Says:

    I have visited the store more than twice and at that time, i just browse and browse….and now, i’m looking for a face scrub, since the once i’m using is almost empty…. and inputs….? i have a dry skin….thanks

  120. k Says:

    The Face Shop is far from being the first cosmetic brand in korea, but it may get there. I think its currently the third cosmetics brand in Korea. Cheers.

  121. aniyah Says:

    hi everyone! i think it would really help if you can check the website http://www.thefaceshop.com for all your questions and for the product info. the site is really nice and you can find all the products there, you can visit the website before going to the store so you have an idea what products to look for.

  122. aniyah Says:

    @mericel– hi there! i used proactiv before and it did not work for me! i think it is indicated there in the package that while using proactiv, you cannot use other products on your face. this is to test whether proactiv will work for you or not or if the solution has any adverse effect on your skin. i suggest that you stay with proactiv for the meantime and see if it will do wonders with your skin. but if you feel that your pimples/acne are getting bigger, then it means that you have to stop using it. i hope this helps!

  133. mhagzz Says:

    hi. do you happen to know a store wherein they sell pure essential oils or fragrance oil? thanks very much.

  134. tine Says:

    my friend recommended me the face shop since i’ve been looking for a good quality pressed powder..i am actually not a make-up person so i don’t know anything about good quality make-ups. All i know is that there are a lot of high end brands popular in the market right now and this may be a good basis. on the other hand, I don’t want to take a risk for this may contain harmful chemicals which my skin type can’t handle very well. So I followed my friend’s advice and bought this Dewy flower moisturizing pressed powder compact and i really like it. It gives a very clean, fresh and light finish. I brought my mother to the shop the other day and she too liked the products and it’s affordable too which is a plus factor.

  135. arlene Says:

    do products contain fragrances? im allergic to any scent.

    i dont have red spots..i actually have clear skin…is the violet one will work just fine too.:)?
    i bought the phytogenic foundation and i wanna buy a make up base too..which of those is better? does thos cause whiteheads?..

    :)

    sorry i just have so many question *shy*..hehe..:) thanks in advance
    man man zou! ^___^

    I am a guy who regularly visit dermstrata (parksquare2, makati)for a facial session…. basically just to cleanse my face…(for almost 3 years already). I never had complaints ever since i tried dermstrata. My skin re-mained healthy…. and face remained pimple free. Until just recently, i opted to visit a branch of dermstrata in Mall of Asia basically just for the same treatment/session. Unortunately, just a day after the visit, i noticed pimples starting to manifest. Its been almost 2 weeks now but i didnt notice any improvement…. White pimples are still coming out on my face… Jst wondering what seems to be the cause of such pimple formation. I have the impression that the kind of service/performance/expertise you get from one branch do vary from that of anoter. If you are happy and you feel safe with dermstrata parksquare 2, better don’t try onother branch (like MOA) or else, you will regret it through the rest of your life….Too bad!!!

    hi avant-garde,

    I have the same experience, back then i used to go to let’s face it, because its totally affordable..Unfortunately, after every facial session I swear I always have breakouts and yes the very annoying white liquid(eew). Until my friend introduce dermclinic, its a bit pricey though compare to lets face and dermstrata but its worth investing. Certified Dermatologist use injection for pimples that will dissapear the next day. But if you get good service in dermstrata makati, i suggest you stick to it..

  153. Moca D Says:

    Hello emily. Sorry to hear about your unfortunate experience.

    The staff in the The Face Shop Eastwood branch on the other hand were so friendly and accomodating even if I didnt make any purchases during my visit. I’d like to commend one of their staff who cheerfully accomodated my questions regarding base make up and foundation.

    Sana consistent and customer service nila in all branches.

    thanks =)

  155. naomi Says:

    Hi, It’s been more than a month now since I bought the Changpo Straight Shampoo, conditioner and treatment. Wow, it’s great I really got what I wanted for my hair, soft, smooth and straight. Last week I also tried their lip shine and phytogenic powder/foundation, and I got the special glow on my face without the made up look. I also bought the Frizz Controll wax and I found it tames my hair. About the staff, the first time I inquired was at the Mall of Asia, the staffs were accommodating even if I did not buy anything.

  156. JamesB Says:

    Hi! I’m a user of your product (men’s toner, emulsion and eye essence) for about a month now.

    I’m now recommending the Quick & Clean Line to my GF, since she has pimples and black marks. I just want to ask if you can use the Calendula Grape Peeling Gel while she has pimples? Can it also be used while using the Quick & Clean Mild Emulsion? If yes, do you apply the Calendula before or after the Emulsion? Tnx a lot!

  157. Yani Cerdena Says:

    hi there!!! i used to buy a paper powder @ mercury drug but they stopped selling those, can u tell me where i can find it?

  162. rayver Says:

    i didnt like their service. the store employees didnt know what i was talking about. i asked her what ingredients they used in the pore minimzer cream, and she was “…..” then got the cream and checked. and told me. WOW… can at the employee at least know what they are selling. and they were even using bench plastics. its downgrading really. you buy a premium product so at least you can get a nice plastic right?

  163. kira Says:

    i love the Phytogenic face powder! i bought lots the last time i was in TFS MOA :)

  164. joanna Says:

  172. sakura Says:

    am currently using tfs professional foundation (355). I have oily skin so the product is perfect for me as it does not turn me into a greaseball. It gives great coverage but it feels light (like tinted moisturizer) and it matches my skintone well! best of all the price is absolutely affordable. really love it!

  173. maureen Says:

    hi jem! here are the prices of quick & clean products:
    - quick & clean mild foam wash P445
    - quick & clean sebum control toner P595
    - quick & clean first aid gel P355
    - quick & clean oil free sun cream spf35 pa++ P525
    - quick & clean oil free moisturizing cream P595
    - quick & clean hydro fluid P595
    - quick & clean mild emulsion P595
    - quick & clean oil free blemish balm P595

  174. maureen Says:

    at the face shop, moisturizers usually come either as emulsion or as cream. thus, the basic function of emulsion is actually quite the same as that of the cream. they both are intended to supply moisture and to keep the moisture in the skin in tact.

    the main difference between emulsion and cream is how much and what kind of moisture each can provide. generally speaking, emulsion supplies more water-based moisture while cream supplies moisture with higher concentration of oil. the water content of emulsion is usually 60~75%, while the water content of cream is only 50 ~ 60%. also, cream contains higher % of active ingredients for skin regeneration, which usually happens at night when you’re sleeping.

    bottom line is that you can choose to use either an emulsion or a cream for your moisturizer. if you have oily skin, i suggest you pick the emulsion since it has higher water content. if you have dry skin, i suggest you use cream. if you have normal skin, use emulsion during the day (since it’s hot) and use cream during the night (for skin regeneration & extra moisture).

  175. ria Says:

    is the perfect stick concealer waterproof? thanks!

  176. clarissa Says:

    been using the quick & clean mild foam wash for about a week now. it makes my skin feel soft and I love how fresh it smells! the only problem is I still have a couple of small pimples on my face. should I just keep using the wash and wait a while for them to go away or would it be better to combine the treatment with the toner and cream or emulsion?

  177. chubz Says:

    I super love their face masks and their facial soap bars. Try it!

  178. maureen Says:

    hi ria! :) the perfect stick concealer is not waterproof but it effectively absorbs excess sebum while providing superior long-lasting adherence. :)

  179. Bea G. Says:

    wow great info maureen! thanks!

  180. ana Says:

Can you suggest what products I should try. I also have blemishes (acne marks, redness) due to previous acne. And what make up can I use? Do you have a cream based make up, concealer? Thanks so much!
