Due largely to Hollywoods current baby boom, novelty gift ideas for moms, babies, and their guests are blooming.
The diaper cake got its 15 minutes of fame when the ever-popular TV series Sex and the City characters gifted their friend with one. Since then, these adorable and practical cakes have been a favorite gift item for expecting moms.
After ShopCrazy featured More Than Gifts, we found three more enterprising moms and their beautiful creations so that you can choose the perfect cake that will deliver the most oohs and aahs!

Gabby is a full-time occupational therapist working with kids with fine motor problems, specializing in handwriting. Between that lengthy job title, and being a wife and mother of 4 girls aged 2 to 15 yrs old, she somehow manages to come up with these cute cakes.
1. When did you start with your business and why?
I started Diaper Cakes-To-Go in March 2004 after making a diaper cake for my sister-in-law. The diaper cake turned out so cute that I was encouraged to make more for expecting friends. Mainly I wanted to make diaper cakes because it was a unique concept not to mention practical. It is the perfect gift for moms-to-be and moms who just gave birth. For moms who just gave birth, I hoped the diaper cakes would cheer them up and banish their post-partum blues.
I started The baby bundle in July 2006. Its another special and very practical gift item to give new moms, instead of the usual bouquet of flowers. It is a bouquet of baby clothes and silk flowers. The silk flowers will not wilt and could be used to decorate the home or be kept as part of babys memorabilia.
2. What are your most popular products and what makes them unique? For the diaper cakes, the most popular product is probably the 2-tier cake. For the baby bouquet, I just started making this gift item so Im not sure yet what will be the most popular.
3. What is the price range of the items? For the diaper cakes, the price range is from P550 (cupcake), up to P3000-4000 for twin diaper cakes. But I can also work with your budget. For the baby bundle, the price range is from P600 (small bundle), P1000 (medium bundle), and P1500 (large bundle).
4. Where do you sell your items? How can people order? What is the lead time for orders? I sell my items from my house. People can order by calling me on my cellphone 0917-858-7339 or landline 845-0860. Orders may be placed 1 to 2 days ahead.

“Hi Cherry, how are you? Was just going to tell you that I’ve been getting diapercake orders. One person I asked how she heard of my cakes, she said she just googled and then your shopcrazy article came out! Cool! Thanks so much!”
