Mural of the Story

by Gwyn Guanzon, Stylist

mural-of-the-story-01.jpgI was lying in bed one Sunday afternoon staring at my blank wall and all I can think during that time was—blank. My wall is too blank. I told myself when I had it repainted that I want it plain and simple, something soothing and relaxing. I got so relaxed that a few months later, it became so boring. Thinking about it, my home is too simple for my adrenalin charged personality. I need something to cope with it. The blank wall where I was staring at was no help.

Then I thought of a mural. Yet having an artist’s hand signatured on my wall can cost me a fortune. It was in the middle of that desperate moment when I found this cost efficient alternative—mural stickers. Billboards don’t really charge per square inch just like paintings right? Same concept. Digital artworks printed on matte sticker attached to your wall. And yes, you can have the artwork suit your personality. They can take a picture of the material you want to play with, clean it in the computer and attach it on your wall.

Gone are the days of Zen minimalism. Living spaces now are bold and adventurous. Furniture designs are playful and intricate details are more valued as quality craftsmanship. Pattern overload on walls, mosaic art on floors and kitsch accents on movable pieces are the basic characteristics of new interiors.

To express ones personality is the trend nowadays. To make your room a playground to release your inhibitions and yes, frustrations, gave a new direction in interior design. After all, where else can you be most true to yourself but in your own home.

you can e-mail ken for the price. :)

just like wall paper, it is not re-usable when removed. it will be best if you have it done by professionals, removing and installing a new one.
