POLL: The Imelda Marcos Fashion and Jewelry Line

imelda-marcos-a.jpgShe will not go quietly, ‘crazies, and she’s getting curiouser and curiouser with age. Madam in her heydays was a character whose iron will and flamboyance rivaled that of Eva Peron. And now, she has announced she will be launching a low-cost fashion and jewelry line, to be aimed at—get this—the youth market. Co-designed by her grandson, the “underwear model Fernando Manotoc” as Reuters breezily called him. (Tsk tsk, Borgy really doesn’t get enough credit. We think he’s a lot smarter than he seems. Read the Reuters article here.) Amazing! There’s no one quite like Madam and never will be again—though Kris Aquino shows oddly similar peculiarities. This development calls for a special ShopCrazy double-poll.

No. Never. Too flamboyant for my taste.
and anyway could anything be more tasteless than to buy from the dictator’s wife who stole our money?

  2. biknifan Says:

Imelda, magnanakaw. Borgy, mahilig sa gulo. Why would we patronize their products? Its like buying from the store of someone who stole your money. Lets all wake up and REMEMBER what they have done to our country which is continued to be felt until today.

  3. Mila G. De Leon Says:

I should not even waste my time answering this. IM should just go away quietly and before she does that should return the money they stole from our country.

  4. Geraldine Juanne Umali Says:

Please lang, enough is enough with the Marcoses!

  5. coLette Says:

imelda is a fashion icon. having to launch such is something for fashion and the whole history of mankind to remember…
she symbolizes beauty, strength and power. i say GO GURL!!!
i would patrionize her products, so Filipina, so beautiful.
    God bless ;)

  6. reo daguman Says:

it will be fun and fabulous!!!!

  7. liza Says:

She’s truly bananas. But this appearance of craziness masks true evil

We are speaking here of fashion and jewelry statements. If Madam Imelda’s collection suits your taste, why not go for it! And let’s face it, we all have our own vanity. So happens that she bears the name Marcos. For those who dont go for her style, try other collections. For those who are interested, wait until she launches it. What is important is, we dont forget to be fashionable and pretty inside and out. For Madam, go gurl!!!

  9. therese Says:

I’ve always respected Shopcrazy as a delightfully and unapologetically shallow website, so I can totally understand how Imelda’s line of clothes can be seen as just that here. But I personally will never be able to bring myself to be okay with Imelda having a line of clothes and it being just a line of clothes. The Marcoses brought down the Philippines and Ferdinand Marcos, supported 100% by Imelda, is recognized as one of the vilest dictators in world history. But anyway, whatever. I’m going to watch the Amazing Race Asia now.

  10. kikay na kikay Says:

many filipinos are really negative thinkers. . y not think of positive things that Mrs. Marcos could contribute? syempre there are some unemployed na magiging employed. .

CHANGE IS GOOD! hindi ba sila puwede bigyan ng second chance? some of their cases are “not guilty” di ba? Go Madam. .

  11. Funkymary Says:

…not really a big deal…walang personalan…I mean the old lady is maybe just trying to bring out her business side which all of us are entitled to…If you don’t like her stuff, deadma na lang..,and if you find it okay then just go with the flow…after all it’s just fashion jewelry :)

  12. ann Says:

yup, we’re talking about fashion here - not how they stole the millions(of money) of the Filipino people :)

like what the others said, if you like the stuffs then go buy them…if not, just ignore them.

They might have stolen our money but at least they’ve put our country “on the map” unlike the others….kurakot na nga, wala rin namang nagawa.

  13. aiki Says:

c’mon Miss Shoe Galore! If i were her I would just stick with beautiful haute jewelry or accessories line she was known for… it’s best to exit the lime light with a rep that is known not only in our country but the world!… unless Imelda wants her regal rep to be badly damaged, here and out of the country, well… im not stopping her from her The-True-The-Good-and-The-Beautiful low-cost quest.

  14. che Says:

i do admire her taste and glamour. but i just feel uncomfortable buying her stuff.

  15. jacq Says:

reminds me of cruella deVil from 101 dalmatians. yes, imelda is my icon. i’ll buy from her line.

  16. Stef Says:

Imelda is coming out on CNN’s Talk Asia. She’ll be interviewed about her jewelry line among other things. She said “beauty is life”. Is that a variation of “the good, the true, and the beautiful”?

some people are really vindictive and arrogant. why are they so antagonistic of the marcoses? nagla-launch lang naman ng product line ang tao kung ano-ano na sinasabi nyo!? remember, wala man lang kasong na-proven guilty sila dito sa pilipinas. besides, sinong pangulo ang nakaisip magpagawa ng heart, lung and kidney centers? sino nagpagawa ng version sa Pilipinas ng Mt. Rushmore momument? Ng PICC complex? Ng Cultural Center? Sinong Presidente ang nagambisyong maging nuclear powered ang Pilipinas? at sumubok na magkaroon ng space program with the launch of the Bongbong rocket? sino!? sino!!!!
milya-milya layo nya mga kababayan. At kung tutuusin, history is written by the victors. E yung side nila, me nagabala bang makinig? Pag tough ang tao talagang madaming galit. di nila kc magawa gusto nila. kaya lang naman napatalsik yan para makaporma rin ang mga di makaporma noong nasa power pa sila. Yun lang. Totoo di ba.
