summit-in-singapore-01.jpgFor this month’s T3 and Men’s Health cover shoots, Summit Media was invited by AXN Singapore to shoot their talents, Jaymee Ong (host of E-Buzz, guest in the hit TV-series Entourage), and Allan Wu (host of the first Amazing Race Asia). I was fortunate enough to travel with Summit’s entourage, and the shoots turned out to be a blast! (To see more of Jaymee and Allan, get the latest copies of T3 and Men’s Health at your favorite newsstands.)

But of course, a trip to Singapore would not complete without some shopping! I love Singapore shopping because they have almost all the important designers. However, unlike HK, Singapore is not exactly known for tiangge-type of shopping. Luckily, I had a few tips from shopping experts in Singapore for must-visit places. My good friend Mich took us to Little India, while Jaymee recommended Far East Plaza.

It’s a whole town where you’ll find a huge market that sells fresh produce and meats, spices, to apparel, antiques, etc. In terms of fashion, it was not too exciting. Instead you go there for their beautiful sarees, among other things. I bought several—a few silk ones that I plan to have made into modern cocktail dresses or gowns, and a few lower-priced ones to use as table cloths. You will also find lots of knick-knacks, home decor, furniture, incense sticks, and accessories like earrings and bangles. And, of course, if you enjoy authentic Indian cuisine, this is the place to go.

Mustafa. A 24-hour department store in the heart of Little India. The place is ginormous! You come here for gadgets, electronics, beauty products, accessories, clothes, watches, and an entire floor devoted to bright yellow-gold jewelry, all at rock-bottom prices. I found my Braun electric eyebrow shaver here, a tip from fellow makeup artist Barbi Chan.
