The Bamboo Lounge

Boracay regulars know that the island’s diverse selection of restaurants can satiate any kind of food craving, but my husband and I were still pleasantly surprised to find a cool Chinese resto within the island. Located in the inroads going to Bulabog beach is The Bamboo Lounge, a place perfect for Chinese-food lovers. The restaurant is inside the compound of Freckles hotel, an Asian-inspired inn. Just tell the tricycle driver to take you to Freckles and you’re there.
The food is standard Chinese, with soy chicken, salt and pepper squid, and the like. What makes it stand out, however, are the large seats that are as big as beds, and the floor seating (it’s called a lounge after all) which are all pretty comfy—especially if part of the plan is trying out the well-stocked bar.
Since it’s a bit out of the way, the free shuttle service from the restaurant to White Beach or your hotel is a nice bonus. I’m not sure if they are willing to pick you up from wherever you are on the island, but you can call them to ask.
For more information, call Jinky Reyes at (036) 288-3161 or 0918-812-1570.
