There’s a lot of bang to be had from one well-chosen piece of jewelry. What you’re wearing can become infinitely better with just the right pendant, the perfect ring. Tikanchay is a new accessories line that has recently appeared in the pages of Cosmopolitan Philippines, and which has been gracing the hands and throats of a few quick-on-their-feet fashionistas.
What makes Tikanchay particularly interesting is where the jewelry comes from. Tikanchay imports its pieces from Peru, and the rings, necklaces and earrings are made from traditional Peruvian materials such as alpaca silver (a composite of copper, nickel, zinc, and iron) and semiprecious gems like agate, turquoise, opal, and obsidian.
The designs are inspired by the country’s indigenous art, and the pieces have a rough, rustic feel to them, which give them a certain charm. Tikanchay’s large cocktail rings (starts at P450) and heavy stone pendants (starts at P850) are particular favorites.
