Gift ideas and shopping places to help you get through your shopping list!

ACCESSORIES
Start with the easiest—accessories. There is such an abundance of earrings, necklaces, and bracelets, and they are becoming the favorite present to give. For your stylish friends, animal prints are hot this season. Play it safe by giving them only in small doses, and remember to wear only one at a time!
PEOPLE ARE PEOPLE, the fave destination of trendy teens and the young-at-heart. Among the local stores, they are always the first to carry the latest trends, minus the steep price. In a few months’ time, you usually see knock-off versions of their apparel and accessories.

SM DEPARTMENT STORE

AMERICAN WOMEN’S BAZAAR (Check our Bazaar List for schedules)

APPAREL
WOMAN. The selection of clothes may not as exciting as in other department stores, but there are a few surprise finds. (WOMAN is located in Glorietta 3 near Mercury Drug)

ASSORTI. For your beach-bound friend. ASSORTI carries swimsuits and resort wear all year round. G/F Philsteel Building, Amorsolo Street, Makati. 816-0648.

KIDS
I am not a CROCS person, but then I saw the kids’ versions—they’re super cute. Especially in bright colors! Plus, they’re supposed to be ultra-comfy, skid-resistant, and bacteria- and odor-resistant.

FOR THE VAIN
Pond’s Age Miracle Cream. Remember your mom’s Pond’s Cold Cream? It’s worked for years, and they have not changed their formula. The same trusted name has come out with their own line of anti-aging skin care products. It promises to reduce fine lines in just 7 days, and long-term improvements after 4 weeks of use. For only P399, this is a must-try, and a great gift. I have just received my bottle, and I can’t wait to see the results.
Also available: Pond’s Age Miracle Facial Foam, P199; Pond’s Age Miracle Eye Cream, P349; Pond’s Age Miracle Serum, 30ml, P499; Pond’s Age Miracle Toner, P229; and Pond’s Age Miracle Makeup Remover, P249. Available in all leading department stores and personal care stores.
TIP: Giving anti-ageing products to either an elder or a younger person can be tricky—what are you implying? It’s best to give this to your contemporaries or peers.
FOR THE HOMEMAKER

FOR EVERYONE
Magazine Gift Subscription. One of my favorite gifts to give because you can’t go wrong. You can choose either a half-year or full-year subscription. Prices range from P435 to P675 for a 6-issue subscription, or P870 to P1275 for a 12-issue subscription, depending on the title. For more details, please call: Summit Media, Circulation Department at 689-1025 or 637-2200 and look for Mayleen Laron or Gina Samson. Or, click here to order a subscription online.

WHERE TO SHOP: For the best bargains and coolest finds, my best bet would be department stores and bazaars. Tiangges are very intimidating during this time of year, so I would suggest St. Francis Square Tiangge instead. No overcrowding, the sales persons are very nice, and best of all, their prices are lower than Greenhills!
Happy shopping!

Hi Lei!
That would depend on what he’s into– if he’s a techie, T3. If he’s a health/fitness buff Men’s Health. Entrepreneur if he is into businesses, and TopGear if he’s into cars.

Is St.Francis packed with stores again? I’ve heard there are only a few who remain.Kindly enlighten me so I can check it out. Thanks!

Crossing from Megamall to Podium, I passed through St. Francis last week. It’s not packed with stalls the way it was last Christmas. Better to go to Greenhills, the World Trade Center bazaar running till Dec 17, Tutuban or Mall 168.

Take Cherry’s advice. She is so perfect.Girls!!!If you like to look really good and stand out in a party or wedding, let Cherry do your make-up.She is the best! That girl is so down-to-earth.She is a certified “rich girl” who does not discriminate. She did my make-up last Friday & I was truly a “scene stealer” because she made me the most beautiful woman in that wedding.Let me say this again to you,Cherry..No matter how beautiful you can make out of each woman look, you will always be the most beautiful woman in the world..because you are truly beautiful inside and out.”
