Chips and Dip

The only chips and dip combo in my vocabulary is nacho chips with an über yummy cheese dip. And I’m really not a big fan of veggies, so salsa is out of the question. Admittedly, I was a bit hesitant when I opened Warren’s Dip, seeing that it was mostly fresh veggies. What reeled me in though was the THICK blanket of grated cheese on top. That and people’s testimonials that the dip was really, really good and an absolute must-try.

Now, who am I to say NO to good food? And I’m so glad I gave this a try because it was absolutely delish! This from someone who doesn’t eat veggies regularly—fresh or otherwise. It’s authentic Mexican food in a box—or in this case, a microwaveable package. It’s a once-you-start-you-can’t-stop type, which I personally think is always a plus.

I had a quick chat with Martin, the man responsible for this new-yet-quickly-becoming-a-craze dip, just so we can find out what is it really that makes his dip so wonderfully addicting.

How did you get started with Warren’s Dip and what was your inspiration? The recipe is actually my mom’s, and whenever she would serve it people would go crazy over it! So she taught me how to make it so I could make it for her, to bring to parties or to give as gifts. I started selling it small scale because I saw the potential that the dip had, just by letting my friends taste it. For now, the dip is the only product that I have, but I’m looking to make different variants of the dip.

C’mon, let us in on the secret! What are the chips and dip made of? The ingredients of the dip are a secret :) But it’s obvious to see that there are tomatoes, cheese, olives, spring onions, and other secret ingredients. The chips are made of flour. But you can use anything with the dip.

Warren’s Dip is available in 350mL (P125) and 500mL (P240) containers. The chips are P50 per bag. For orders and inquiries, please get in touch with Martin Warren through 0917-852-1200. Martin doesn’t deliver orders, but he’s looking into that in the future. So meantime, you can pick up your orders at #2 Sineguelas Street, Valle Verde 1, Pasig City.
