by Sharlene TanUpdate your look with a new bag. If you’re hesitant to try out a new trend (like you think wearing white will make you look fat) then don a trendy bag instead. We raided our local boutiques for some runway inspired bag looks and check out what we found!
CHAIN REACTION
It all started with Mischa Barton and her Chanel bags. Eventually stores and boutiques made their own interpretation of the much coveted chain-strapped bag and these are some of those that stood out.
CRYSTAL CLEAR
A few summers ago, Jelly Kelly was all the rage. This summer, Chanel started a new bag trend with its “Naked” bag line. Here are more affordable alternatives.
JUST CLUTCH IT
Perfect for dates, events and all the weddings lined up for this June.
HEAVY HARDWARE
Gold rivets and buckles add instant polish to any bag. They might be heavier than your usual carry-all but trust this to make a statement. Hollywood celebs have been seen toting this trend with Balenciaga’s giant hardware bags.
GILT TRIP
The metallic leggings at Balenciaga or the satin turbans at Prada may be too OTT for you but you can still get a quick dose of shine with these.
BIG BAG THEORY
Oversized bags are a very practical buy. It pops because of its slightly larger shape and it’s roomy enough to dump everything in. Remember to pick a size that matches your frame.

You may already have one, but for those who are still undecided about getting one, here are some pieces you might want to consider.
PRINTED CANVAS
Pretty prints made its way to a lot of people’s wardrobe this summer. Fashion houses churned out printed mini dresses and skirts galore. A printed tote can make the same impact.
