I am a huge fan of Jane Austen movies. My two feel-good movies are: Emma (with Gwyneth Paltrow) and Pride and Prejudice (circa Keira Knightley) and I swear that I will end up with someone who is the perfect combination of Mr. Knightly and Mr. Darcy (hmmm…Mr. Darly?). So when I heard about this movie, I was pretty psyched.

I read a couple of previews before I saw the movie though and they weren’t very positive. Mostly they’re peeved (Sorry, that’s Austen creeping in. I am currently writing this review in a gazebo by the garden with a cup of earl gray tea. I wish.) that it strays quite far from its source material. It’s a fictionalized biopic of Jane Austen’s life, emphasis on fictionalized.
