It’s as irreverent, crass, and hilarious as the TV series. D’oh! But there’s something about seeing our favorite yellow-hued family on the big screen that makes it better than the boob tube experience.
The plot is pretty basic—sort of run-of-the-mill Simpsons fare, cubed—Homer does something major dumb (again, d’oh!) that gets his family and the whole town of Springfield in serious trouble. There are some unexpected developments though…Bart becomes chummy with the folks next door (!), Marge leaves Homer (!!), and Lisa hooks up with a young whippersnapper (!!!). Oh…and Maggie finally says her first word.
