American Women’s Bazaar

by Cherry Pacheco-Uy

american-womens-bazaar.jpgI pick the bazaars I go to, and one of my must-go-to bazaars is the American Women’s Bazaar. Yes, it’s quite far from where I live; yes, there is a P100-entrance fee; and yes, it ends by 3pm, but the goods found there make everything worthwhile. The fact that AWB is held once a month throughout the year says they have satisfied customers who keep coming back for more.

What I like the most about the AWB is the wide variety of quality goods found here. The organizers are quite picky about the merchants they let in, so that consumers get the best of the best. A lot of the stalls carry locally-made items for export such as ceramic plates, home decor, apparel, toys, jewelry, accessories, and handbags. And now that it’s officially Christmas season, expect a lot of gift and decor items.

These are some of the stalls/goods I look forward to the most at the AWB:

SUNDARI Accessories from India. They have unique jewelry and knick-knacks from India, personally chosen by owner Shirin. True, they have a stall in Glorietta, but a lot of the items she brings in are one-of-a-kind and once they’re displayed and sold at the bazaar, you won’t find them in Glorietta.

Accessories from Pakistan. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the name of the stall, but you won’t miss the display of chunky gold and silver chains, large fashion earrings and bangles, all brought in by the Pakistani stall owner. Silver-tone bangle, P750.

C2M2 Bags and Ties. C2M2 bags and ties are sold in all major hotels around the metro. But here at the AWB, they are sold at factory prices. These make great presents for colleagues, friends, relatives, or beaus.

THEOBROMA Chocolate Cake. They have really moist chocolate cakes made with Belgian chocolate that melt in the mouth. They sell the cakes whole, or by the slice. Make sure you give it a taste when you pass by their stall. You can contact them through 842-6265 or 0922-375-8749. You can also visit their website at www.theobroma.com.ph

The Theobroma Belgian Cakes now come in 3 different flavors: Perfection, Midnight and Hazelnut Praline. All the cakes in 3 sizes come in a special designer box that would be best for gift giving.

  9. ann Says:

hi there, i always go to the AWB when i’m in manila, unfortunately i’ll miss it this year as i arrive on 15 dec.
the last time i was at the AWB i bought some ralph lauren sports shirts in a few colours and want to buy a few more. did you notice if their stall is a regular there and if so, would you have their contact details or other bazaars they are in? thanks, ann

  10. Cherry Pacheco Uy Says:

Girlfriend and Netsil– the AWB is always held at the World Trade Center along Roxas Blvd, Pasay City. :)

  11. krishna Says:

yup, AWCPs great, not as crowded as the other bazaars! though its a hassle to go kasi its on weekdays! my extended lunchbreak spent there leaves me bitin! :) good finds though, Sundari is one of my favorites for their cheap prices and unique pieces. Another favorite is the Karl bazaar at NBC tent, weekend so i think its more convenient and i think they have more vendors. lots of unique stuff din, i have several suki there :)

  12. CreditCardADDICT Says:

yeah me too. my office is in the malate area. the venue is accessible but since it’s a monday, work first right before pleasure & shopping. so i go at lunchbreak or 1pm…. and i get excited and partly stressed having to rush. in the end i didn’t get to get a good view of all the shops. hence, the reason to go back. tsk tsk tsk. sana man lang midweek

  13. faith Says:

may I ask when the next American Women’s Bazaar is this January?

  16. roschi Says:
