vida-01.jpgI fell in love with Vida’s pieces when stylist Sidney Yap first showed them to me. Just what I was looking for—standout pieces that are big and chunky but not tacky. In fact, looking at their ad campaigns, one would assume the jewelries are from abroad.

Vida Tan Lim (or until recently, Vida Marie Tan) studied Jewelry Design at both the Fashion Institute of the Philippines and at La Salle College International in Makati. But it’s her many travels abroad that give her inspiration for her world-class designs. She also uses her background in Interior Design to come up with old-world (Baroque, Egytian) inspired yet modern accessories. All the gold pieces are designed and hand-carved by Vida herself. They are made from brass and are plated in 24k gold.

Fantasia neckpiece is made of turquoise, corals, Swarovski crystals, glass, agate, and freshwater pearls embedded on copper wire, P7000. Gold curved earring, brass based gold plated 24k, P700.

Black chandelier earring is made of glass and brass gold plated rounds, P1200. From top: Guilloche bangle, P2800. Baroque bangle, P3000. Gehry bangle, P3000.

Round earring brass based gold plated 24k, P700. Guilloche bangles in gold, P2800 each. Paula neckpiece, round pendant gold plated 24k brass based, P2100.

  11. Vida Tan Lim Says:

Momgie! Hi!:) I always store my jewelry in a box and I dont expose them to air. After using, I wipe my jewelry with a clean cloth first to remove any fingerprint or sweat….
I coat my jewelries so it wouldn’t tarnish easily.
Take note that I’m using brass for my pieces. Therefore it doesn’t break easily like the fancy jewelries that you see.
    Thank you so much momgie!:)

Hi Vida, will do. Thank you.
Yeah the jewelry boxes are great. I have some fancy jewelries back in the 80’s & 90’s stuff i felt were disposable… they are still in good condition till now… that was a time when fancy jewels were like ahhhh kinda off.

  14. Miravelle Says:

nice jewelry, pretty model, its just so sad now that brazilian models are taking over the philippine modeling industry, our local models are losing work because of them and most of them dont even have work permits. i just dont think its right because we are promoting an unrealistic image of beauty. a very foreign one.

  15. Nina Says:

    I agree with Miravelle!

  16. irene Says:

    Wow, your pieces are beautiful!!!

I would like to have the gorgeous black drop earring which I hope to use on a party. I wish I could have them all!

It’s poetry in motion!!! Congrats to these incredible work of art.

  17. Vida Tan Lim Says:

Hi Irene! You can contact me through my multiply account. vidajewelleries.multiply.com.You can leave me a message there:)Thanks dear:)

  18. CreditCardADDICT Says:

I think there are Filipina models out there who exude the same sexyness & sophistication, glamour. Pinay pa!! We cud be what we want to be! Baka we need to crossbreed with Brazilians na! hahah

  19. mon Says:

oo nga, tama na ang mga brazilian models. local retailers should promote local modeling talents instead of spending twice as much on brazilian models or other models of foreign descent. do u know that brazilian models are paid more than the country’s top local models?
