All I want for Christmas…

makeawish.jpgI love wish lists! Even after I stopped believing in Santa, I still believed that people deserved to get what they wanted for Christmas—which was why I was so delighted when my college class finally got the concept of wish lists and required every member of the class to write what they wanted to receive in Kris Kringles. Gone were the days when we were left to guess our monito/monita’s Christmas wish!

This year, though, Power Plant Mall came up with a better way for parents and children to list their Christmas wishes with Santa’s Wishing Station. Not only could kids and adults alike tell Santa what they want for Christmas, they could also wait for Santa to write back.

At first I thought that the booth was only for kids, because when I looked down at the registration list, I was the oldest one there. But apparently, adults also love lining up to write their wishes, and the staff even told us that it’s usually the adults who come up with thoughtful ones, like good health for their family, or silly, ambitious ones like a house and lot, and even world peace! Then again, some wishes do come true, so who knows?

I didn’t have to wait long when I wrote my wishes, as there were no lines the day Regina, ShopCrazy’s Advertising Sales Executive, and I came to try the wishing station. We were quickly ushered to the computers where we filled in a ready template for our letter to Santa. My three wishes were pretty simple—I listed a pink wallet, a charger for my iPod, and a trip to Japan. Haha, wishful thinking!

Santa didn’t take long to e-mail back, too. Within a couple of minutes, I got his reply, saying that because I was good (I hope so!), he would make room for me in his list. Will I ever get my wishes, especially the last one? Now that’s something I’ll have to see for myself and work hard for. Okay, for that one I’ll have to exert some real effort other than being good.
