Barbi Chan has done makeup for countless cover and fashion editorial shoots for various Summit Media magazines. Her expertise and versatility in the medium has landed her gigs from Cosmo to FHM—from fresh and feminine to sultry and seductive!
Knowing how experienced she is, we asked her what makeup she recommends—not for cover models, but for regular Joes (rather, Janes!) like us.
One of Barbi’s picks is Maybelline’s Volum Express Hyper Curl Mascara. She says that what makes it an excellent mascara is its patented Volume Maximizer Brush, which loads lashes with the quickest, thickest volume. Think one stroke equals the effect of brushing the lashes thrice. “It also makes applying mascara less complicated,” says Barbi and further explains, “This is because there’s no need to curl the lashes with an eyelash curler. The mascara will do the curling for you!”

Volum Express Hyper Curl comes in black and brownish black, in waterproof: P399
Barbi also recommends Maybelline’s Angel Fit Foundation. Angel Fit features ultra-light micro thin oxy powders that don’t clog pores. Moreover, “After applying it, Angel Fit feels like your own skin, even with its translucent and radiant finish. This is ideal for women who aren’t keen on wearing makeup,” Barbi says. It also contains royal jelly, chamomile essence, and vitamin E.

Angel Fit comes in four shades specially developed for Asian complexion. Angel Fit two way cake: P649. Angel Fit refill: P429.

hey, angel! i’m afraid i haven’t tried fasio’s but when i do, i’ll post my thoughts here. =)
hi, teeyah! hmmm that’s a very good question. well angel fit has a real cute compact. =) but if i had to choose, i’d place greater consideration on which has the shade more suited to my skin tone. =) oh and also use the tester in malls to check which is friendlier to my skin. =)

I loooove the Angel Fit foundation. It’s really light and it gives my skin a very natural glow.
P.S. Hello, Iris =) Fasio is available at Rustan’s Essenses.

i just bought the maybelline volum express mascara, it’s a huge improvement over their old formula (the one in the pink tube). i really, really like it plus it doesn’t rub off at all.

does the angel fit good for oily skin? if not? can u suggest a better foundation for oily skin….tnx a lot

I’m using Maybelline’s Volum Express and the waterproof formula is good. It doesn’t stick in the lashes too much like other mascaras and it’s easier to remove with a makeup remover =)
I bought Angelfit also but I haven’t opened it yet. They have limited shades though..

I’ve been using Fasio’s waterproof curl volume mascara for like six months and decided to try Maybelline’s Volume express mascara so I bought one last sat. i’d have to say i like Fasio more coz my lashes are ticker when i use it. but the downside is it’s really hard to take it off even when i use a make-up remover.
