Can you tell me where I can buy these see through umbrellas? Or can you put me in touch with company that makes them? I'm based in the UK and would like to buy in bulk.

littlehamster, I have to agree that in Japan, these are sold in 100yen shops. However, if you go around Tokyo, different transparent umbrella quality have different prices :) In those 100yen shops, they offer a smaller size umbrella (19" rib length), thinner shaft, and rounded rips (compared to Genki Umbrellas' fluted ribs), and thinner/cheaper handle. If you know these technicalities, you should understand the difference in value. In addition, they are considered fashionable and cute in Japan even though it's very common there. If it's not, why do fashionable-conscious Japanese buy them? :)

littlehamster The ones that you are talking about (those Japanese umb) are disposable, that is why they are cheap. Though you can find durable ones at higher prices. Transparent umbrellas have been around na in Phils way back when I was little, though they weren't patok kasi here they use their umbrellas both as rain and Sun protectors. So how can you shield yourself from the sun if its transparent? It's good to see those cute clear umbrellas going mainstream. I hope Genki will make cute anime style just like the ones I see in Tokyo. It's 99 bucks so its not overrated.
