It’s really nice to see that we have high-quality shoes here. I’m eying on the Camile patchwork ballet flats. Thanks for the feature
April 23rd, 2008 at 2:31 pm
The shoes are nice but expensive.
April 23rd, 2008 at 7:46 pm
The shoes featured do seem to be expensive. But if the promise of quality and comfort is true, then yeah, I’d be willing to pay for it.
April 23rd, 2008 at 7:53 pm
nice in the pics but saw these already. Not so nice. for the price there are a lot of nicer locally made ones . (my opinion)
April 23rd, 2008 at 10:45 pm
sorry, i bought these expensive wedge shoes, but my feet hurt. i didn’t even last a day wearing them. ouch.
April 24th, 2008 at 12:35 am
i remember trying on some of their flats at archaeology, they felt comfy naman. too bad they didn’t have my size that time.
April 24th, 2008 at 9:55 am
Too expensive. The highest I’d go for shoes would be PhP1,200.
April 24th, 2008 at 12:02 pm
I love their designs. My only wish: that they would make bigger sizes. I would totally buy, if only they had the shoes in sizes 10-11.
April 24th, 2008 at 12:57 pm
Proudly Philippine made, but not exactly priced for the average Filipino. I think it’s a bit too expensive.
April 24th, 2008 at 1:36 pm
correct way too expensive for us Filipinos.
April 24th, 2008 at 3:51 pm
i agree, i can’t buy these shoes.they are just too expensive. maybe you can feature shoes that are gawang marikina and PRESYONG marikina rin.
April 24th, 2008 at 4:57 pm
to some people who are under a different market maybe these are expensive, but i guess for women who regularly buy 4,000 to 5,000-peso shoes, this is a way better alternative and quality philippine-made at that. and i like that they limit the number of pairs they produce per design (maybe some of the details are handcrafted), unlike those that are mass-produced thus are obviously cheaper, you’ll bump into someone pa with the same pair! i guess it really depends on the market you’re under. but for me, i don’t think they’re that expensive as long as they don’t go over Php3,000.
April 24th, 2008 at 8:58 pm
is this a joke! please the shoes featured are NOT internationally competitive! the designs are cheap and common. do they know style? expensive doesn’t mean excellence. those are not even worth a thousand! i’m sorry! i just hope they are not overpricing!
April 24th, 2008 at 9:42 pm
way tooooooo pricey! the designs are neither unique or nice! proudly filipino made? i don’t think so.
April 24th, 2008 at 11:07 pm
i got myself a pair from their rockwell store but they really hurt my feet and were not comfy at all
they have some nice bags though
April 24th, 2008 at 11:14 pm
its too expensive imo. i can get comfy and fashionable shoes for less. i have one sapato manila wedges, its cute but it also hurts my feet.
hmmm i wonder of sapato manila reads our post…
April 25th, 2008 at 2:20 am
so much anger in this post ah! lolz!
some int’l brands hurt my feet also & are way more expensive & i’m sure a lot of filipino women experience that too. but i never hear ppl get so mad about those int’l brands the way they are about this local brand. kawawa naman lol.
April 25th, 2008 at 3:59 am
@ Marie
I agree. Many of the int’l brands hurt my feet and especially, many of them look the same too. Hmmm, crab mentality?
Anyway, I think the designs are nice.
April 25th, 2008 at 8:54 am
Marie! i have read the previous posts and I didn’t feel any anger .. they were all just stating their opinions and preferences.
April 25th, 2008 at 10:52 am
you know guys mostly of the philippine made products are so expensive. i don’t know why? but you’ll find some filipino brands that is worth to be expensive just like PEDRO shoes. but there are also filipino brands that looks expensive and competitve enough but their price is reasonable like cathy’s bag. yah of course there are international brands that is too expensive as well, e…, they have their reasons. one is, their products is known internationally. two is, they have originality…like lacoste, lesportstac and crocs. but havaianas??? i don’t why they were expensive gosh it just a rubber slippers wich we call “filp-flops”. printing designs on those rubber slippers would not cost a lot of money i think! sorry i’m not a fan of havaianas as well. just my opinion.
April 25th, 2008 at 2:19 pm
i got 1 flats and wedges of this brand and the problem is it is not really comfy and it really hurt my feet. The price is a little expensive compare to other local brands. the designs are just ok. but admit it, imported brands are still the best and cannot even compare it w/ any local brands here.
April 25th, 2008 at 4:03 pm
chanda, come on. okay, maybe not anger, but some of the comments are quite OA. i won’t name names, but it’s obvious naman if you read each & every comment. everyone posting obviously states their opinions & preferences, however some are too catty with the way they state their opinions, w/c i think is unnecessary with this type of topic at hand. just my opinion! hope i didn’t sound too catty!
ftt: i like the snakeskin flats. does anyone know if tenorio manila still makes shoes? parang they’re the same range din.
April 25th, 2008 at 4:43 pm
well i think just like in competition judges are sometimes opinionated & maybe abrasive. w/ sapato manila’s case well we as their market will be the judge of their products. well sorry if some of their markets are not satisfied w/ what they offering. but i hopo sapato manila will catch this as a challenge. well confetti is also a local brand they hurt my feet…yes but not as pricey as sapato manila. i can name more pinoy brands that is reasonable with their price.
April 25th, 2008 at 8:56 pm
i actually bought 2 pairs of wedges of different style and color in one day. imagine spending more that P5,000 for that not knowing that these shoes were not comfy. my feet really hurt on these. grabe in 2 hours of walking, my feet gave up and ended up buying slippers on that day. whew!!! such a waste because i will never use these again, unless you will go to a place where you will be just sitting down the whole time. expensive shoes don’t really promise you comfort.
April 26th, 2008 at 9:59 am
Marie! haha… actually was just surprised with the ‘anger’ comment.
nope you weren’t ‘catty’ at all.. lol not even a bit.
an not trying to pick a fight or anything .. just reacting to comments like you do. god bless
April 26th, 2008 at 11:28 am
i personally think that the shoes are perfectly priced for the quality and style. They would cost 10x more in europe for the materials used… (if you know how to shop) Philippine products are highly priced compared to chinese made products primarily because labor is more expensive here. Hope that answers most of the questions in this site. If the chinese are paid a dollar a day… Filipino laborers get paid 7 times more… that explains everything. I believe that Sapato Manila is the most promising brand in the current fashion market for local brands in this country. One of the better brands available (Again, if you know how to shop!)
CHEERS!
April 27th, 2008 at 3:44 pm
bottom line here is sapato manila is an expensive local brand. designs are just ok and common. but majority here complains that it is not a comfy shoes and WASAKAN NG PAA ito. promise!
April 27th, 2008 at 3:56 pm
I regularly visit the Power Plant Store because it’s so eye-catching.
The comfort factor really depends on what kind of shoes you buy from them. I bought a pair of yellow flats. They were OK. I agree though that the wedges are pretty painful. But maybe they just need some breaking in?
Also, the prices ARE pretty expensive. It’s because they’re targeting upper class Filipinos so they can’t be “presyong Marikina”.
Personally I would prefer to buy Sapato Manila’s bags and keychains. These have good quality and designs.
April 27th, 2008 at 4:59 pm
the designs are not that good looking. too common, and very expensive. snakeskin flats? come on… i mean, how long would you be wearing that? for me its not a staple in a woman’s wardrobe. it really isn’t. would you simply go to the mall in the middle of the summer wearing that? i won’t, and a handful of girls won’t. we’d be wearing open toed shoes or sandals or “flip-flops” (americanized version of the ordinary tsinelas). in the long run, there’ll be cracks, and it’ll just look awful after five or ten years.
haha. i hope no one gets mad at my post. i admit im just overreacting lang naman. sus naman kasi ang mahal! kung mgka-sale ng mga 70% off on all items puwede pa hahaha!
April 27th, 2008 at 5:27 pm
i wish pinoy shoe manufacturers come up with really comfy but stylish looking shoes at the fraction of the cost of foreign brands. janilyn is stylish but not comfy. solea shoes have cushion (malambot sa paa) but a bit expensive for a local brand (it’s local, isn’t it?). i hope sapato takes this as an opportunity to improve its product line. i tried on a pair of sapato flats which caught my eye in rockwell and i almost bought it - the biggest come-on for me was it was on sale so it was around P1K only. but the materials were matigas and pinched my big toe so i didn’t buy.
April 27th, 2008 at 10:42 pm
They use real leather plus they also have to pay rent in Power Plant. And they have just one branch. Perhaps this contributes to the high prices? I don’t think we should discern the items we buy based on where it is made. Philippine-made items shouldn’t always be priced super low, if the quality is good. And like any other shoe brand, some styles tend to be unformfortable - why do ladies go ga-ga over Manolos or Louboutins?
April 27th, 2008 at 10:48 pm
glenville:
Uyyy I agree! Janilyn is so not comfy!
The shoes I love are VNC and Charles & Keith. They’re priced below P2k but are stylish and comfy.
Hope we could emulate our Asian counterparts!
April 28th, 2008 at 9:34 am
for me, whether local or imported - what is important is the price and the comfort. Judging from above comments Sapato Manila should try to improve on the comfort of their shoes. Even if its expensive, I would buy it if it was really comfortable, lke the naturalizer
AND if others want to voice out their opinions and disappointment in the comfort of these brand. Then they should so others do not buy this if they are after comfort and vlue for their money. And Sapato Manila SHOULD work on these complaints. amen!
April 28th, 2008 at 6:04 pm
i agree chrales & keith are so orignal in deisgn. i have 4 pairs. a lot of asian brands is making their own names in international market. sana soon tayo din.
April 28th, 2008 at 9:15 pm
i think the price is way too expensive!!! i thought it would be fit for average filipino buyers since its marikina made, but not… and the patchwork ballet flats, hmmmm i think i saw that in on of the tianges in manila w/ much affordable price…
April 28th, 2008 at 11:29 pm
Lets face it most of our society is composed of the middle class… so how could you say that it is proudly a Filipino brand when most of its client belong to the upper class. Eh sino- sino ba ang mga nsa upper class sa pilipinas? Pilipino ba ?
April 29th, 2008 at 1:32 am
Swear!
May 1st, 2008 at 2:20 am
could you show me about the fashion in philippine, i just want to know what the citizen at there wearing (custom or just urban style) and i need to know which style is hot at there. actually i got a plan to go there. okey thank you for your answer.
May 7th, 2008 at 11:24 am
may mga ka-pareho ng design yung mga shoes na featured dito sa Celine na ang price range ay 999-1200 lang like yung red peep toe.. please mag-feature naman ang shop crazy ng mga good finds na budget friendly!
May 7th, 2008 at 4:55 pm
yeah! the prices are way expensive and its not that pretty.. a better alternative is shoebox, they have reasonable prices and nice stuff
May 13th, 2008 at 9:51 am
i love wedges. but it’s true, sapato’s looks good but they hurt a lot
that’s why I always have to bring flipflops with me when I wear mine, because after a while, it hurts na. Sayang naman I spent so much and won’t wear it. Haha. Having said that, I liked this wedge from Aerosoles, naku
I can stand all day wearing them and my feet won’t hurt. I can even run in them if I have to, I think
I ended up getting them in almost all colors available
