A salon haven in the midst of a bustling mall

If there was an award for the most customer-friendly and accommodating salon, this would certainly bag the prize.
Ask anyone who’s been to Acqua Salon in Trinoma and this is what they’re probably going to say: “The staff is very nice and accommodating!”
Yet as its management firmly states, nice is good but skill is what they’re after. And this salon definitely has the skills aspect covered too. For one thing, they have one of the best coloring services in the metro.
With four senior stylists, seven junior stylists, three manicurists, and three very friendly reception ladies, Acqua has got all your beauty needs covered. And I haven’t even gotten to the services yet. Check them out after the jump.
I brought a friend with me so we could try being pampered by two of Acqua Salon’s senior stylists, Avesta Uy and Marnelli Dabuit. My friend decided to have a biolage treatment (hot oil) and hair cut, while I went for a soft-gloss treatment (price starts at P1,200) for my hair since the color needed a retouch.
I asked Avesta what color will be best for me, and she recommended L’Oreal Hi Richesse in Blond Satin. “I chose that because it’s my favorite—it has a beautiful finish,” says Avesta. “It gives ash effect which is very in now, has class, and certainly not ordinary. This treatment is a cross between permanent color and cellophane, giving color and glossy shine. What’s good about it is it lasts for more than 21 washes and stays the same shade throughout.”
After my treatment, Avesta remarked, “Beautiful!” And indeed it was. The soft brown color of my hair was enhanced further, lightening my features more and bringing out the fairness of my complexion. I keep getting compliments about my new hair color; my friends say it suits me better. I also noticed that it does shine beautifully. The hair color that Avesta applied is very gentle and did not damage my rebonded hair. I loved the fact that my hair didn’t smell like chemicals post-color, too.
Avesta, who is also very fond of sharing hair care tips to her customers, advised that to better care for colored hair, we should use color-treated shampoo and conditioner once a day. At the very least, we must condition it, even using the ordinary brands, and leave it on for five minutes. To style hair, she also recommends the use of serum, like L’Oreal’s Liss Extreme, which is perfect for rebonded and colored hair.
Meanwhile, my friend asked Marnelli to give her a haircut that’s suited for her long rebonded hair. And so Marnelli opted to give her a feathery cut, which is the longer version of layering. Asked why she chose this style (which my friend really loved), Marnelli explained that it is perfect for my friend’s Asian features, “She’s like a star from a Korean series,” she says. “This is a fashion cut that’s perfect for those with rebonded hair, which is a challenge to style since you can only go with typical cuts and it is hard to look for a cut that would really complement it.”
Secluded VIP area
Marnelli recommends that to further enhance this kind of cut, have bangs done or wear a headband after applying wax or serum. The nice thing about this do is it is wash and wear. At P280, the haircut is a steal and they really know what would look good on you. My friend, Ara, shares, “My haircut added style and body to my hair. I loved how the cut is very modern-looking and got a lot of raves from other people.”
Check out the other services we tried on the next page (and find out how they did on the mani-pedi service).

How much for the dry hair and scalp treatments?

i just hope the staff esp. the one in the counter will not be a snob or judgmental like most salons in the Metro. After all, one goes to a salon to look good, so judge me after the cut/salon treatment not before!!!STUPID SALON Staff..why? well, i went to F Salon Riverbanks marikina, and some stupid biatch took so long to appear on the counter and after a while appeared without even a greting, then denied my request to have my hair cut and relaxed! i was just very polite but at the back of my mind, i am saying, i could buy your salon if i want to! biatch..i am pretty sure it was some discrimanation and not just because they don’t want to..
most salons do that here i could go on and on..e ano ba pinag-aralan ng mga nasa salon..e mga manggugupit lang naman sila! enough..

You may also try to have your hair cut by Mr. Narry. He is one of the best hair stylist in the metro. I just discovered Acqua Salon because of him. Actually I met him in CMH salon. So when he transferred in Acqua, I followed him there : )

I L-O-V-E Acqua! Avesta is also my hairstylist and I just have praises for her work. Coloring (and I believe make-up too) is her specialty. Staff is highly-personable and are super accommodating.

My friends and I love Acqua too. We went there last Saturday. Tina scored luscious curls, grabe ang ganda. Binibiro ko nga na seductive tingnan. Haha. I got this cute bob. Girls!!!
MJ from Acqua Alabang is already back in
TriNoma every Thursday 10am-6pm. (She started in mid-July). She is the most-requested Sr stylist in Alabang.
September 23rd, 2008 at 2:46 pm
MJ used to be from Franck Provost (a pioneer in fact that’s why she was
trained by Franck Provost himself) and is a pioneer stylist of Acqua Alabang
since we opened in January 2005. She has clients from all the way in QC and
Makati who up to now have followed her all the way to the south.

I just went to Acqua Salon today. My stylist was Ms. Terry and I love my hair. She’s good and accomodating.. All the staff were nice.. They gave me a glass of Iced tea while waiting.. I also had eyebrow threading by JR. It was painful but tolerable. It was my first time though. I’ll definitely come back to that salon.
