Feed your dry skin with avocado

I like fruity bath and body products. I don’t exactly eat healthy, so slathering on fruit-based skincare products allows me to vicariously live the healthy life. But one thing I’m not too keen on when it comes to these products is, ironically, their overly sweet scent. I want to smell good, but I don’t want to reek of a walking fruit basket.
It’s a good thing I was able to try The Face Shop’s Sweet Body with Avocado line, which provides ultra-hydrating benefits for my normal-to-dry skin, as well as provide a delicious sweet scent without fear of being chased by red ants.
Check out the line on the next page.
Sweet Body with Avocado contains vitamin E and protein that hydrates parched skin.

Sweet Body with Avocado Moisture Cleanser: P525
The line’s Moisture Cleanser is an anti-drying shower gel that can be used daily. Unlike regular soaps and bath gels, it doesn’t leave a tight, dry feeling after you’ve rinsed it off.

Sweet Body with Avocado Moisture Exfoliator: P525
For extra dry skin areas, use the Moisture Exfoliator, which contains walnut skin powder and jojoba wax to slough off flaky skin. This clarifying scrub leaves the skin smooth, especially with its avocado oil that nourishes skin.

Sweet Body with Avocado Moisture Lotion: P525
The Moisture Lotion is easily absorbed by the skin, yet keeps skin moisturized for hours. One way I can tell if a certain brand of lotion is of good quality is if I can feel it being washed off after several hours of applying it on my skin. The first time I tried the Sweet Body with Avocado lotion on my hands, it really didn’t feel sticky—which, however, may sometimes mean that it easily wears off and doesn’t provide round-the-clock moisturization. But when I washed my hands after 12 hours, my hands felt slippery, as if the lotion was being washed off—because it was still there on my skin. Needless to say, I was impressed.

Sweet Body with Avocado Moisture Oil: P615
I like using the Moisture Oil after a shower right before going to bed. Massaging it onto my skin is a nice way to pamper my tired skin. The oil is ideal for sensitive skin and soothes it using camellia and macadamia nut oil. You can also use this as a mildly scented body spritz, especially when you’re in areas prone to make your skin dry, like an air-conditioned office.

Sweet Body with Avocado Moisture Balm: P615
I haven’t tried the Moisture Balm, but according to the product label, it includes shea butter (one of my favorite skincare ingredients), mango butter, avocado oil, and macadamia oil. It’s meant to provide intense hydration for stubbornly dry skin.
So many products, but which should you use? You can actually use the entire line simultaneously, especially if your dry skin really needs a sweet treat. I suggest you try the Moisture Cleanser for your daily shower, then use the Moisture Exfoliator either: 1) once a week, or; 2) on extremely dry skin areas like elbows, knees, feet, etc, simultaneously with the cleanser. As for the moisture lotion, use it after you shower, then save the Moisture Oil for those before-bedtime baths to smoothen as well as calm your skin. You can also use the oil lightly as a mildly scented body spray.

Would it be okay to use the Avocado Moisture Balm for the face? I know its designed for the body but..a friend of mine swears by Aveeno body moisturizer for her face….
Just wondering if it would be okay and not too “heavy.”
Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Marsha! The Face Shop’s Sweet Body with Avocado line uses mild natural-based ingredients. I recommend you do a patch test first on your jaw line to test if the Sweet Body Avocado Moisture Balm works for you. Do this patch test for three consecutive nights and if you are pleased with the results, then you can use it on your entire face. Just make sure to use a minimal amount, as you do not need a lot of the product on your skin to achieve its moisturizing benefits. Thanks for supporting The Face Shop!

Thanks Marge!
I recently visited the Eastwood branch where a friendly staffer assisted me with my purchase of the sweet avocado balm and offered your other line of moisturizers which I’m seriously considering.
Cheers!
