Looking for an excuse to indulge in sleek eyewear?

Now is the time to treat yourself to a pair of Lacoste sunglasses, as the brand is celebrating its 75th year—the pair you buy will not only be certainly chic, it’s also a collector’s item.

Check out the eyewear model for women as well as its special casing after the jump.

It has been 75 years since entrepreneurial French-Tennis champion René Lacoste started making his now iconic polo shirt in 1933 to clothe himself and other tennis champions who wanted an alternative to the long-sleeved, starched white shirts and sweaters so common to the game during that era. The first ‘crocodile’ logo was drawn by Lacoste’s friend Robert George in 1927, after an American journalist gave him that nickname for his tenacity on the court. Lacoste had this embroidered on his blazer and then used a modified version for his polo shirts, giving birth to both a legend and a logo. He soon managed to transfer creative influences from the court to the catwalk.

To celebrate its 75th anniversary, Lacoste launches a capsule collection of clothing, bags, footwear, watches, and eyewear featuring the original logo with a contemporary twist on products and packaging.

For eyewear, the soft angular model for women projects an image that is both classic and fashionable. The distinctive double-layered acetate in black and white color rounds up the look with warm accents. The silver metal crocodile inlet on the temple emphasizes brand consciousness, while the stylish metal ring on the end tip highlights the sporting heritage of the product. These glamorous women’s sunglasses come in white, black, and beige.

Each pair of sunglasses comes with a 75th anniversary sunglass case and lens cloth. Both feature the silver grey three-ball anniversary logo, with LACOSTE in the first ball, followed by the original crocodile logo, and finally 75 Sport Elegance, which is the theme of this special birthday celebration.

The problem with some writers is that they don’t know how to do their homework right. Nagsulat pa with so much temptation pero di pa ginawang kumpleto at ilagay ang PRICES para di naman magsayang ng panahon pa to get to a shop esp. when the price of gasoline is TOO high just to check out things in the mall.

In fact, people who mostly reads things be it on newspaper or net publications such as this one have no time for BS. You give the info, we want all the info we should get, then it is up to us if we are going to go and grab it.

Hayyss..fashion crazy readers have no time in the world to GUESS prices. or to go roam around malls.

    mabuhay shoppingera!

  4. Oregon Says:

Maybe the point of the whole thing was to encourage you to go to the mall and actually look at the products yourself. Sometimes, knowing how much something costs and realizing how expensive it is without getting an actual visual of the product turn a few people off, leading them to make judgments in haste. They miss out on the probability of perhaps even getting mesmerized with the luster of the thing, given that this is Lacoste, and these sunglaesses are indeed prettier when you’re actually touching them. That’s why the ultra-expensive car brands like Ferrari and Porsche don’t post their prices in car magazines.

Or maybe the point was just hey, it’s Lacoste’s birthday.

See, the problem with a commenter like you is you tend to generalize, with sweeping statements like “In fact, people who mostly reads things be it on newspaper or net publications such as this one have no time for BS.” or “fashion crazy readers have no time in the world to GUESS prices. or to go roam around malls.” I would have no problem if it was just you, but don’t drag the majority of us with you without aid of a study or a citation at least.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but you’re not exactly dominating the demographic here.
