We look for quick and ease ways of losing weight and toning our bodies these days. Now, did you know that you can get a good workout simply by wearing flip-flops?
FitFlop, the flip-flop with the gym built in, addresses the modern Pinay’s penchant for getting fit and love for flip-flops. Not only do you get to relax your feet and display them in the brand’s surprisingly pretty styles, you also get to tone your legs and bums in the process.
Stay in shape as you run errands, walk to work, or work around your house. The health and wellness footwear brand in the US was recently launched in the Philippines and is now available in several stores nationwide.
See FitFlop’s designs and learn more about the product and where to get it after the jump.
Created in the UK, FitFlops were initially designed to help modern women squeeze a little more exercise into their increasingly hectic schedules. Its midsoles incorporate the patent-pending “micro wobbleboard” technology. Slightly destabilizing, the flip-flops feature varying densities of EVA foam in the underfoot piece, challenging your foot and leg muscles more with every step, delivering a workout as you walk. It also claims to work your bum muscles more and have a significant effect on toning your thigh muscles.
A study done at the University of Salford in Manchester, UK, shows that wearing FitFlops is like walking barefoot, but only better. It is as comfortable, yet provides more support as the added cushion provided by the EVA midsole helps reduce joint strain and absorb shock. They found that several FitFlop-wearers have already reported relief from back pain after a few days of wearing them.
The styles of FitFlops are exclusive for the ladies (except for the lone men’s style). Choose from its basic range to the more kikay range that feature sparkling sequins, cute fringes, and two-toned designs.
Walkstar is the core and most basic among all styles. It is engineered with a multi-density midsole that stimulates your muscles more while you’re wearing them. SRP Php2,990.
FitFlops also have styles with sparkling sequins, suede fringes, and an even better WalkStar design. Check out these variants and the store information on the next page.

i bought one in singapore last month. its only useful if you really walk a lot. i have one and you do feel the “tightness” of the muscles at the end of the day, but that’s for almost a whole day of walking though it gave me a bruise on both my feet (where the straps are), i guess because of the weight of sandal and wobble technology. Don’t think it will be effective though if its just walking around the house. =)

I’ve been using my fitflops for almost a year now. got my pair way before they ever released it here. as for toning the legs, i use it as supplement for exercise so it helps me maintain my legs in the shape i want them to be.
but the highlight for this pair is the comfort. you can walk for kilometers without an aching back and feet. so for someone who has scoliosis like me, fitflops are perfect!

heard (well, actually read) about the hype of fitflops so i still hafta see it for myself. Almost 4 grand?!!? Jeezuz. Can I pawn ‘em at Tambunting or Lhuiller if ever I need cash? heheheheheh… 4K = 1 Nike/5 Havainas/1 Doc Martens, etc etc…welll, if it’s that effective, why not? As long, the one’s paying (who is my other half) won’t suffer a cardiac arrest when he’s sees the price tag…That will be more expensive…
