As we age, we notice that our skin becomes sallow, dry, and prone to fine lines with every expression we wear. We long for that youthful glow and that soft and bouncy baby skin we used to have.

With the latest developments in science and technology, nothing seems impossible to achieve, even when it comes to having young-looking skin—again. But how do we know they work? We have to understand first how our skin behaves.

Skin’s source of youth, in fact, lies in the creation of new cells. Yet as we age, skin produces fewer and fewer cells, leaving your face looking dull and old. As early as 25, the first signs of aging appear: brown spots, eye bags, and fine lines. Which is why even at this age, we must already be conscious about anti-aging measures.

It was with this in mind that L’Oreal Dermo Expertise created a new way of addressing anti-aging skincare through its new Derma Genesis line, which they call the cellular-youth creator that boasts of luxurious textures. This line introduces two unprecedented active ingredients that stimulate cellular activity, helping restore our young skin: the anti-aging active ingredient Pro-Xylane and the powerful skin re-plumper Hyaluronic Acid create an ideal environment for cellular activity, particularly cellular renewal. Seven years of research were needed for L’Oreal Laboratories to develop Pro-Xylane, and we can now enjoy the full benefits of this dermatological advancement in L’Oreal’s comprehensive Derma Genesis skincare system.

Check out the run-down of products in this innovative new anti-aging line after the jump.

Derma Genesis has products for each of the steps in your comprehensive skincare regimen.

For cleansing, they have the Derma Genesis Cleansing Foam (Php250) that smoothes skin irregularities. It has a silky and creamy texture that lathers abundantly upon contact with water. Hazel, 26, who recently had the opportunity to try the product, says, “I especially loved the scent of the facial wash. After rinsing, I noticed that my skin felt much cleaner. The promise of exfoliation was right on the dot. Even those deep seated blackheads were no match for this.”

Derma Genesis also has a Toner (Php360) that refines and smoothes skin texture and gives it more radiance. It leaves the skin feeling cool and refreshed. It has a fresh water texture that penetrates your skin and hydrates it instantly with a watery touch.

For eye care, there’s Derma Genesis Daily Treatment Eye Serum (Php795) that minimizes fine lines and reduces dark circles.

Derma Genesis’ star product is its Day Cream (Php 750, shown in photo). This product is their pride and joy, as it boasts of the most luxurious texture they have ever achieved in a moisturizer. It softens, tautens, and illuminates skin. With its ideal texture, skin is left with a soft, natural-skin finish. Hazel recounts, “I applied the Day Cream in the morning. Sometime in the afternoon, I checked my skin and noticed that I didn’t have that oily feeling associated with wearing moisturizers. Seriously, I have found a new love!” The Day Cream also has a variant that contains SPF 15.

At night, you can apply the Derma Genesis Night Cream (P770) that promises to strengthen and smoothen your skin while you sleep. “It is easy to apply, smells heavenly, and is not greasy at all,” says Hazel.

Derma Genesis will be launched in Rustan’s and Watsons this September.

L’Oreal is hyping its Day Cream, which has the best texture among all. My friend who has tried it loves the feel of it on her skin, says it doesn’t feel sticky. If you’re unsure, start with the facial wash. It refreshes your skin; I have oily to normal skin, too.
