We decided to award the last pair of sunglasses to 34-year-old Michelle Manalili, who admits “I actually do not own a pair of sunglasses. I only wear eyeglasses, and it has always been an obsession to finally get a pair. I got contact lenses last March so I can wear shades and still be able to see clearly. Yet summer has passed and still no luck. Every time I go to a shop to try on a pair, I wonder, ‘Will it fit me? Or is it better to stick to my glasses?’ And each time, I end up with nothing to wear.”
