Don’t you miss bringing home-cooked baon? Didn’t you appreciate your baon as much when you were a kid, since your food containers were bulky and you didn’t have microwave ovens in school (or didn’t know how to use it yet even if there were)? We bet the only times you would be encouraged to bring your baon are when you have cute lunch boxes like those ubiquitous pink Barbie ones and some cute tote bags in which you could hide the big containers.

Now, lunch boxes are getting more convenient since you pretty much have a choice when it comes to which size you prefer, especially if you want your food compact or prefer taking smaller servings. If you’re into smaller and cuter lunch box designs, why don’t you try the lunch boxes from Daiso Convenience Store, available in various sizes and colors? You can also get them for your kid. (more…)

You’ll never guess what these cute shoes are made of

Wearing shoes made of recycled materials has never looked this good.

Environmental awareness and use of sustainable materials is slowly but surely infiltrating the world of fashion and beauty. First, there was a store for sustainable living. This time, eco-friendly footwear made entirely of sustainable materials is introduced by Simple Shoes.

But first, a definition of terms: Sustainable means capable of being continued with minimal long-term effect on the environment. By using sustainable materials like used car tires (that would otherwise have ended up in landfills) for its outsoles, Simple tries to reduce the ecological footprint left when making shoes and bags.

How we make our shoes is just as important as why we make them” is its company philosophy, which is why a pair of Simple Shoes is a purchase you just might feel good about. There are over twenty Simple ingredients (natural and sustainable materials) used in making their shoes and bags, which include recycled PET (old plastic bottles), cork, wool felt, recycled car tires, water based glue, jute, crepe, and bamboo.

Find out more about Simple Shoes and their available styles after the jump. (more…)
