All-natural skin care and pampering
by Trixie Reyna, Managing Editor
Everything’s going back to basics these days, skin care included. Like mineral makeup that turns to naturally occurring ingredients to enhance our beauty and bring color to our face, skin care made of natural ingredients such as essences of fruits, and even clay, seem to be all the rage. This is so because products made of natural ingredients are believed to be much safer and healthier for our skin.
Holystics Naturapeutic Cosmetics by Holystic Haven, House of Healing, now also available in EchoStore, is a new alternative skin care renewal system that aims to heal the body by claiming to use the best of nature and science combined. All their natural personal care products are supposedly free from carcinogenic ingredients (such as preservatives). They also claim to contain a magnetic defense complex that shields your skin against all kinds of pollution, artificial electro-magnetic waves (from your computer and mobile phones), and radiation.
Check out their skin care line that consists of six products that treat specific needs of your face and body after the jump.
The Cleanser – Facial Wash (P155 for 50g and P803 for 100g)
Their Cleanser is meant to cleanse and exfoliate skin, leaving it soft and radiant with an alabaster-like finish. It also claims to gently remove makeup and daily impurities while helping diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and is suitable for all skin types. Ingredients include Therapeutic Living Clay, jojoba oil, and essential oils.
To use, apply a small amount on your skin and gently massage over your face, then rinse and pat dry. It does not lather at all, but gives a cooling sensation that makes you feel it is indeed cleansing your skin, yet it feels gentle on your face. However, if you’re one of those who feel their facial wash needs to lather up to know it works, you might not be used to this product. I use it only in the morning, because I feel I need something that lathers (even just a bit) to really remove the oil and dirt that accumulated on my face throughout the day.
Body Scrub – Body Exfoliant and Smoothener (P215 for 10g and P1,414 for 100 g)
The Scrub is meant to detoxify your whole body, and gives a 2-in-1 exfoliating and moisturizing formula. It contains de-ionized water, Living Clay Blend, sweet almond oil, walnut kernels, microscrub beads, glycerine, and essential oils. It is also called an “aromatherapeutic delight for your olfactory sense.â€
Use after your soaping ritual and rinsing. Scoop out the scrub and gently massage your whole body with it until it dissolves. Rinse it all off with water and feel the difference; it’s great. For one, it had that spa scent I loved. And it really does wonders for making skin smooth. I left it on for about five minutes, and when I rinsed it off, my skin felt so smooth and soft. It scrubbed all my dry skin away, especially around the elbows, knees, and feet. This is my second favorite product from the line. I felt that my skin was cleansed, relaxed, conditioned, and invigorated.
The Mist – Face Screen and Aromatic Tonic (P376 for 20mL and P1,399 for 100mL)
The Mist is meant to be a holistic stress filter, supposedly an invisible shield against all kinds of pollution and effects of artificial electromagnetic waves and radiation. It also claims to be anti-fungal and anti-bacterial. It also boasts of superior moisturization as it heals, hydrates and rebalances your skin’s PH resulting in a velvety soft complexion.
To use, close your eyes and spray on your face or on a cotton pad that you’ll smooth over your face anytime you feel like it. It is recommended after exposure to sun, wind, and other dehydrating conditions. It has a distinct cinnamon scent. Although I didn’t notice an obvious benefit to my skin, it does refresh my skin; I use it when my face is feeling oily or whenever it’s humid.

I was a bit of a sceptic when it came to HH claims. After receiving samples, I am now a convert. I plan to do away with my (more expensive, I calculated it and I’m better off with HH products) normal skin care line.
I especially love The Moisturizer. It has a great consistency and the very mild fragrance is beautiful. It feels rich yet non-greasy, and because it’s best stored in the fridge after being opened, it’s cooling too.
The Mud is a winner. It does really draw out toxins. I know it sounds counter productive; impurities surfacing and the resulting blemishes, but I know that after a while, my skin will be purer. I love how it doubles as a spot/blemish cream.
I’m not a huge fan of The Mist. I can’t put my finger on it, but there’s something off about how it feels on my skin. Maybe it’s a personal preference.
Haven’t tried The Bar or The Scrub yet. but am excited to do so. Definitely recommending this product to my friends.

Hi, i’m just wondering how the mud doubles as a spot/blemish cream if it causes you to break out in the first place?
Thanks!
