A most soothing pedicure

If you would like to try The Spa’s services but find them a bit over your budget, why don’t you just go for their manicure or pedicure services? For those who want nail care in spa atmosphere, The Spa’s offerings are a real must-try.
After walking myself sore as I took advantage of the sales in Bonifacio High Street stores (yet still unwilling to spend over P500 bucks on a little bit of relaxation), I decided to try The Spa’s pedicure in an attempt to take shelter from that sweltering Saturday afternoon at Fort Bonifacio. The Spa Pedicure, P380, is their version of pedicure using Light Concept Nail products from Germany. I readied myself for at least 30 minutes of respite from the heat and bustle of the weekend crowd outside (which is unusually huge for BHS since the Eraserheads reunion concert was happening at the Fort Open Field that night).
Just stepping into the lobby is enough to make me feel at ease. Don’t you just love the soothing minty smell that welcomes you as you enter spas? I was soon led to a small room with four lazy boys draped in white sheets in a row—already a step ahead from the common salons where you get your usual pedicure. After settling myself into a lazy boy, I was asked to choose from LCN’s wide range of nail color. I had a hard time picking but finally decided on a deep metallic violet hue that I love. My feet were then given a five minute soak, after which the attendant reclined my lazy boy.

I could have easily slept through the entire pedicure, if only I wasn’t too keen to observe the service. The soft instrumental music playing in the background, eucalyptus/minty scent typical of spas, dim yellow lighting, and the cool temperature would really lull one to a deep, relaxing sleep. No need to worry about how the attendant can see what she’s doing: she has her own bright light trained on my feet.
I barely felt how she cleansed and shaped my nails, as I reclined on the lazy boy; her hands were so light, I never felt any pain. And my toenails and feet really did look so clean and pretty afterwards.
The bonus: a delightful foot massage! You don’t normally get that from your usual salon, except when you ask for a foot spa with pedicure, which would, of course, cost more. The pressure she applied as she spread the lotion on my feet was firm, yet gentle enough that she was able to soothe my tired feet without the pain usually associated with firm massages. With that alone, I already felt I got my money’s worth (even if I can’t help but wish it lasted much longer than a few minutes).
Since it was an unplanned foot treat, I realized too late that I was wearing ballet flats that day—hence I needed to dry my nails for at least 20 to 30 minutes before I can put my shoes back on and head back to shopping, lest I damage the polish. The attendant allowed me to stay longer in the room (despite it being a busy day for the spa). I relished the experience of relaxing in a cool, soothing, quiet room as I waited for my nails to dry. I even managed a quick nap!
If you’re not up for a pedicure, you might want to try their other foot care, nail care and paraffin treatments. Check out their list of services on the next page.

a friend gave me a gc so i decided to give their pedicure a try. service was okay. i loved the lay-z boy but the polish they used never dries completely, polish was ruined when i put my shoes on, even after overnight. i went back to have it re applied. same results.

[…] from The Body Shop, the scent of which reminded me of the spa-pedicure experience mentioned in a recent post here. I tried massaging this oil into my hands, legs, and feet before going to sleep and it was enough […]

I went to The Spa greenbelt 1 but I had trouble with my ingrown cause they just cut it so in a few days it has grown and was giving me trouble. Initially I loved the look and the feel when they do your toes but I was forced to have my toes go under surgery due to this.
Careful on these things cause sometimes the experience would not be worth all the pain.
I recommend going to specialty nail spas like Tips n Toes and Nail Spas and the likes, around the same price as The Spa but you’ll be sure they are experts on your fingers and toes.
