Manic Monday? Treat yourself to milk tea

On Mondays when we still nurse weekend hangovers, we all have our ways of coping. Most of us may turn to coffee for a quick jolt to get us focused on our work, or maybe a good breakfast to keep us energized until noon.

But for those who feel jittery after having too much coffee, tea could be a perfect alternative. Since tea has about half the caffeine found in coffee, it can give us the perking up we need. The UK Tea Council also notes that theanine, the amino acid found in tea, naturally stimulates brain activity called alpha waves. This helps us get into a relaxed but alert mental state. Theanine is also a known mood booster.

Despite all these benefits, more people still turn to coffee because tea tends to be bitter, especially strong black tea. Fortunately for those who want their tea sweet and creamy like a latte or frappe, they can opt for Lipton milk tea. (more…)
