Spritz your way to wellness
by Trixie Reyna, Managing EditorAs much as we would like to go to the spa at least every weekend, most of us unfortunately do not have the luxury of time or money for that. We previously wrote about how you could bring the spa experience to your home. Now, wouldn’t it be even better to take it with you wherever you go?
We’ve recently found a line of world-class products that are proudly made in the Philippines using some ingredients that are found here. The same team who brought you the delightful Nurture Spa Village in Tagaytay and Pampanga and spa products company Spa Essentials now brings you wellness, healing, and stress-relief in little bottles through their new aromatherapy line, Amu’in.
I’ve had the chance to try four of the products in this new line which I find most convenient and suitable for on-the-go needs of career women. Convenient enough to carry in your handbag, each of these products instantly addresses a particular wellness concern with just a spritz. Learn more about these products and find out why you’ll instantly become a fan of Amu’in after the jump.
Wellness advocates Mike and Cathy Turvill are behind the success of Nurture Spa Village in Abe’s Farm Pampanga and Tagaytay; Spa Essentials products available at Watson’s; and Spa Professionals, the country’s only professional spa school (with UK-based accreditation).
Knowing that stress is perhaps one of the biggest dangers of modern living, the couple wanted to develop a line that could be like a spa on the go for the downtime between spa visits. Hence the birth of Amu’in, from the Tagalog word for “to caress, to tame.†In this case, the beast that needs taming is stress.
“All the Amu’in products are natural and plant-based, and use pure therapeutic grade aromatherapy essential oils. They are proudly made in the Philippines using Philippine essential oils, of which we guarantee the supply and quality,†says Mike, who holds a doctorate in Organic Chemistry.
From sunrise to sundown, there is an Amu’in product perfect for any situation: there are products that can calm you down, perk you up, heal, and even bring a little romance to your life—everything with your well-being in mind. The great thing is how they use only fresh, premium ingredients yet at more affordable prices.
Sigla (“energyâ€)
Perk up and face the day happier and tingling all over with this line. The Sigla rich lotions and potions call on the energy-boosting abilities of peppermint, lemon, and lemongrass to not only brighten you up, but also allow you to focus better on tasks ahead. Use the Sigla products in the morning, as soon as you wake up.
I’ve tried their Body Mist with Lemongrass (P185), which revives and re-energizes. My favorite product from among those I’ve tried, this refreshing mist made of lemongrass hydrosol and essential oils of lemongrass, peppermint, lemon, and Maychang really perks me up. I spray it on my face before going to work to chase the sleep away from my system, as I prepare myself for another hectic day. I’ve found that it helps me focus.
It also works as a great toner, and I’ve noticed that my face increasingly looked refreshed the more I used it. Be sure to cover your eyes when you spritz it on from a safe distance (a few inches from your face). I keep it in my handbag and bring it out whenever I’m starting to feel drowsy in the middle of the day.
The Sigla line also has a Shower Gel with Lemongrass and Mango Extract, Body Lotion with Mango Extract, Essential Oil Blend, Massage Oil with Lemongrass, and All-natural Room Spray. They also have a Dry Body Oil with Lemongrass (P415), which is supposedly anti-aging, as it helps lessen wrinkles with continued use. I haven’t had the chance to try it yet, but given how effective the Body Mist is for me, this may just be as effective.
We did mention that Amu’in even has products that supposedly have aphrodisiac properties. Check out their Gayuma line plus their relaxing and sleep-inducing products on the next page.

Hi,
They aren’t available in Watson’s. You can purchase online by visiting their website, or at Nurture Spa Village in Tagaytay or Pampanga. Let’s watch for other stores that will carry this line, coming real soon I was told.
