Catch the Christmas spirit in these events

by Webmaster

It’s that time of year: since Christmas is celebrated the longest in the Philippines, it’s no wonder that as early as October, we are already bombarded with pre-Christmas sales, bazaars, and other events in anticipation of the holidays. If you haven’t been bitten by the Christmas bug yet, these slew of events for adults and kids just might do the trick.

For starters, be part of Araneta Center’s holiday tradition: the star-studded lighting of their Giant Christmas Tree November 7, Friday, 4:30PM, at the Araneta Coliseum Parking Lot. Click on the jump for more details and to see more holiday events—sales included.

Fashionable sports footwear—especially for women

by Trixie Reyna, Managing Editor

Who says sophisticated, fashionable women cannot and do not wear sneakers or rubber shoes? After all, being fashionable is not simply about being able to keep up with the latest trends. It’s about being able to stand out and express your unique style whatever you are wearing—even sports footwear.

It’s really all a matter of finding a pair that suits you and understands all your feminine needs. Sadly, some shoes created by the more known sports brands cater more to the male market, which is why women have very limited choices when it comes to sports footwear that truly gives them what they need: that is, utmost comfort and feminine style.

Good thing Ryka is now available in the local market. Products of the US sports apparel brand are “inspired by women, designed by women,” as their tagline goes—in an effort to give women their sportswear needs. Gone are the days when we have to sacrifice our feminine style for comfortable running shoes that provide good support. Ryka combines comfort, great support, and feminine flair in each pair—even perfectly following the contours of women’s feet.

Check out the pair I’ve tried after the jump.

A quaint shopping village in the heart of Cubao

by Trixie Reyna, Managing Editor

There’s actually a great shopping place within the Araneta complex apart from Gateway Mall. It has some really amazing finds and even a quaint Italian restaurant you have probably heard about and should definitely try.

Have you heard of Cubao Expo? It is the former The Marikina Shoe Expo, nestled between the Araneta bus terminal and Puregold, and located behind Ali Mall & the old Rustan’s Superstore, which now houses Automatic Supercenter and ACS Call Center.

Among its tenants are I Love You store, Grand Thrift Shop, Little Divisoria, The Reading Room (with lots of fashion finds and even a soul card reading room where you can have your fortune told by its proprietor, Sandy Allan), Breathing Space, White Box Gallery, Sputnik Fantastik Comicbook Shop, and Bellinis Italian restaurant, which we mentioned at the beginning of this post.

Learn more about this quaint shopping place hidden in the heart of Cubao in Quezon City as well as their exciting shopping events after the jump.
