Catch the Christmas spirit in these events

It’s that time of year: since Christmas is celebrated the longest in the Philippines, it’s no wonder that as early as October, we are already bombarded with pre-Christmas sales, bazaars, and other events in anticipation of the holidays. If you haven’t been bitten by the Christmas bug yet, these slew of events for adults and kids just might do the trick.
For starters, be part of Araneta Center’s holiday tradition: the star-studded lighting of their Giant Christmas Tree November 7, Friday, 4:30PM, at the Araneta Coliseum Parking Lot. Click on the jump for more details and to see more holiday events—sales included.

A quaint shopping village in the heart of Cubao
by Trixie Reyna, Managing EditorThere’s actually a great shopping place within the Araneta complex apart from Gateway Mall. It has some really amazing finds and even a quaint Italian restaurant you have probably heard about and should definitely try.
Have you heard of Cubao Expo? It is the former The Marikina Shoe Expo, nestled between the Araneta bus terminal and Puregold, and located behind Ali Mall & the old Rustan’s Superstore, which now houses Automatic Supercenter and ACS Call Center.

Among its tenants are I Love You store, Grand Thrift Shop, Little Divisoria, The Reading Room (with lots of fashion finds and even a soul card reading room where you can have your fortune told by its proprietor, Sandy Allan), Breathing Space, White Box Gallery, Sputnik Fantastik Comicbook Shop, and Bellinis Italian restaurant, which we mentioned at the beginning of this post.
