Gift idea: Anak ng Kwek Kwek’s quirky accessories
by Sharline Bareng, Staff Writer
If you want your Christmas gifts to be totally unique, it’s always easy to find alternatives especially with bazaars popping up all over the metro.
One of our fun bazaar finds this year is the line of accessories by Anak ng Kwek Kwek (AKK), a Multiply-based store that makes earrings and necklaces from “wearable junk†such as five centavo coins, buttons, copper wire, beads, and even Lego bricks.
Anak ng Kwek Kwek designers Pau Reyes and Charisse Padilla’s goal is pretty simple: to create cool, quirky designs from seemingly useless odds and ends. Pau and Charisse have turned the wearable junk they collected have turned into three kinds of Kwek Kwek accessories: Happy Beads, Isaw Wire, and Junk Kwek.
