Do you toss them or keep them even if they’re old but are otherwise in good condition? How long do your shoes last anyway?

If they’re Manels, there’s a possibility you either still wear them after all these years or you’ve just kept them for old times’ sake—because they’re still in good condition. But did you know you can actually earn discounts through these old shoes, not to mention the chance to win up to P10,000 worth of gift certificates from the local shoe brand?

As Manels marks 45 years in the business, they launch a promo dubbed “Vintage Manels,” where loyal patrons can present their pre-owned Manels items that are still in good condition to get up to 40% off on purchases, based on the brand’s logo. The customer who can present the oldest Manels item wins the P10,000 shopping spree.

DURATION: December 1, 2008 to February 8, 2009
VALIDITY: All Manels branches nationwide

MECHANICS:
1. Promo is open to all interested Manels customers.

2. Customers must present any of their old Manels item at any of the participating branches to avail of the corresponding discount: 20%, 30%, and 40% discounts will be given according to the logo on the product, which has evolved over the years, and thus determines how far back the item goes.

3. Upon availing the discount, customers are also entitled to join the contest by completely filling up the registration form. Registration is free, forms will be handed out by a store personnel for qualified customers. Forms must be submitted to any authorized store personnel within the date the items are presented.

4. Pictures of the item and the customer will be taken by any Manels authorized personnel using their camera phones

5. Top three oldest Manels items presented up to the end of the promo period will win any of the following prizes:

• 1st place: P10,000 worth of Gift Certificates
• 2nd place: P7,000 worth of Gift Certificates
• 3rd place: P5,000 worth of Gift Certificates

6. The oldest Manels item by the date it was displayed on store will be declared as the winner.

7. Items must be in good working condition to qualify as an entry.

• Manels logo must be intact and visible.
• Items must still be useful/functional and presentable.

8. Customers are entitled to win several times depending on the number of entries presented.

9. All employees of Manels Leathergoods Corp. and participating outlets including their relatives up to the second degree of consanguinity or affinity are disqualified from joining this contest.

10. Deadline for presentation of entries is February 8, 2009. Winning entries will be determined on February 20, 2009 at 5PM in Manels Leathergoods Corp. Head Office, Unit 2503 Jollibee plaze, F. Ortigas Jr. Road, Ortigas Center, Pasig City.

11. The owners of winning entries will be notified through registered mail and telephone call authorized by Manels Leathergoods Corp. about when and where they can claim their prizes.

12. Prizes can be claimed at :

• For NCR Winners – Manels Head Office, Unit 2503 Jollibee Plaza, F. Ortigas Jr.Road, Ortigas Center, Pasig City
• For Provincial Winners – Nearest Manels branches (as specified on the registered mail)

13. The following must be presented by the winners for verification when claiming the prize:

• 2 valid IDs with picture (e.g. drivers license, passport, SSS or TIN ID, NBI Clearance, Voter’s ID, School/Employee ID, etc.)
• Original copy of registered mail notification from Manels Leathergoods Corporation.
• Winning entry

14. All prizes are non-transferable, not convertible to cash, and tax free.

15. Redemption period shall be within 60 days from receipt of notification. After the given 60 days redemption, unclaimed prizes will be forfeited with prior DTI approval.

16. Winners declared by Manels and with concurrence of DTI will be final.

17. Contest is not valid in conjunction with any other promo offering/s.
