Olay Regenerist: non-invasive, more reasonably priced anti-aging solution
by Trixie Reyna, Managing Editor
Anti-aging skin care products are all the rage, what with the damaging effects of sun exposure finally taking its toll: it seems all women are becoming more and more concerned about deep lines, wrinkles, and uneven skin tone—all of which are signs of skin aging accelerated by exposure to UV rays, pollution, and stress.
However, not all women have the luxury of going to the dermatologist for advanced anti-aging clinical treatments, such as laser surgery. Not all of us can afford the latest anti-aging products in the market, which cost a few thousand bucks for a small pot.
Which explains the warm reception for Olay Regenerist, as seen even in our ShopCrazy posts about its One-Day Pre-Sale and its official launch in the country last November. I decided to try two products from this line: the Cream Cleanser and their star product, Regenerating Serum, which I’ll tell you more about after the cut.
I was excited when I learned that the Regenerist line included a Cream Cleanser (PhP299). I’m a fan of Olay’s facial wash line, which they launched in the country along with Total Effects, and I couldn’t wait to try their Regenerist variant.
I was not disappointed. The cleanser has fine beads that gently exfoliate my skin, lifting dead skin cells for younger-looking skin. I use it at night, whenever I feel my pores are clogged with all the day’s dirt, and it effectively removes these skin-damaging impurities. With every wash, it leaves my face feeling refreshed, hydrated, soft, and smooth.

i’m in my early 30’s and though i don’t see any wrinkles yet, do you suggest that i start using this? i’m just afraid that it might be too harsh for my skin at this stage?

im lucky not have acne problems up to this age, 24, that’s why im very hesitant to use anything on my face yet after a day’s pollution, i want to feel squeeky clean and washing with water only just dont feel enough. esp when i put on eyeshadow and eyeliner. i’m very tempted to use olay. you think its not harsh?

I am really disappointed with this product. If there is only a return policy at the back label, I would have returned this right away.
I am 27, no pimples and no wrinkles. I decided to try this product after reading this article. To my horror, after 3 days of using it every bed time, my face became very dry and I have 2 red spots (like a pimple is about to start) so I stopped using this product immediately.

^ hi B, have you ever tried using any other moisturizers aside from regenerist? i mean is it your first time to apply something like it? my theory is that your skin might be a bit sensitive or you may have what we call the ‘virgin skin’ especially if you are just the soap & water type. hope everything goes well with you.
mine was completely opposite. i tend to have a zit every once in a while. when i used olay regenerist, my skin started to clear up and honestly, it glows. after the long christmas break, when i got back to work, my officemates thought i had something done to my face like diamond peel because i am really glowing and my skin seems to be so smooth.

hi dreamcatcher,
im 27 years old, i used olay total effects for almost a year and i want to try regenerist. Do you think i can use this as a replacement for total effects?
thanks!

hi ripcurl30,
it actually depends. i think (in my opinion) regenerist is for those women who are a bit older. with your age, total effects might still be appropriate for you. but like what i said, it depends. a person’s age might not be the same as his/her skin age. premature ageing exists in some people – those who are exposed to extreme sun and of course those who smoke tend to have this. if i were you, i think i’ll stick with total effects. i mean if it really works for you. i find it hard to switch brands and also variants. just use regen when you’re in your 30s would be safe.

I am 24 and I look 16 (features and skin). I still use regenerist. No harsh reactions. I think it’s never too early to start with skincare.
