Keep your skin protected day or night
by Cheekie Albay, Staff Writer
By now every woman knows that prolonged sun exposure is bad for the skin. But did you know that UV damage occurs even when the sun is not at its strongest, such as early morning and late in the afternoon? Even when it’s cloudy, 80 percent of UV radiation still manages to get through. Being indoors is not even a guarantee that you’re protected, as UV rays can still penetrate glass windows in your home or office.
This calls for stronger protection from both UVA and UVB rays all day long, complemented by products to help repair the damage. Check out the latest products from some of your favorite beauty brands that promise to do just that.
If the only reason you avoid wearing sunscreen is you hate the thick, sticky, and greasy feel that some brands have, then this new product from Neutrogena may just change your mind about it. Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Complete UV Waterlight Lotion SPF 50+ PA+++ (P460) provides long-lasting protection against 90-95% of those nasty UV rays, but the best part of all is it’s ultra-lightweight-like you’re not even wearing sunscreen at all. Neutrogena’s Helioplex technology supposedly protects skin from UVB rays that attack upper layers of skin and cause sunburn, as well as UVA rays that penetrate deeper layers and contribute to wrinkles and possible risks of skin cancer-without the product weighing your skin down.
But if you want to provide your skin extra care and protection even as you sleep, you might like Avon’s innovative new product. Avon Solutions Total Radiance a.m./p.m. (P500) is for ladies who realize that skin has different needs for daytime and nighttime, yet think it’s a drag to have to buy different skin care loot for day and night. Avon Solutions Total Radiance a.m./p.m. packs a cleansing system and a moisturizing system in two nifty dual chambers. One side contains the a.m. formula, which provides protection against UV radiation; the other half of the pot houses the p.m. formula, which helps renew skin as you sleep. It conveniently brings together round-the-clock skin care in a neat single container that you can easily bring with you or keep on your dresser.
Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Complete UV Waterlight Lotion SPF 50+ PA+++ is available in leading beauty and personal care stores, department stores, and supermarkets nationwide. Avon Solutions Total Radiance a.m./p.m. is available through Avon Representatives nationwide. Call Avon Customer Hotline at (02) 8642900 or visit www.avon.com.ph for more information.

What’s the difference of the new Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Complete UV Waterlight Lotion SPF 50+ PA+++ from the previously released Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock? =)
I’m a user of the latter.

The difference we saw is in the texture, since the newest release, the Ultra Sheer Complete Waterlight Lotion, feels very light on your skin, and is not sticky or heavy at all, despite its high SPF, which often affects the sunscreen’s formulation (making it thicker). That’s the innovation we noticed. But we’ll still try to get more info from our contacts at Neutrogena if this doesn’t suffice.

Hi, The Tree House,
Here’s the Neutrogena team’s response to your inquiry:
Both the Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Complete UV Waterlight Lotion SPF 50+ PA+++ and the Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock have the breakthrough Helioplex technology, which provides stable protection against the sun’s UV rays. They also have Dry Touch technology that leaves a non-oily, non-sticky texture. Waterlight boasts of an ultra-lightweight texture that’s perfect for everyday use on the face, while the Dry-Touch Sunblock is made for the body but still gentle enough for the face.
