Finally, a one-stop pet shop at Pet Express!

It’s every pet lover’s fantasy to shop in a supermarket filled with dog (and cat!) stuff—just like those abroad. Thankfully there’s one already in the Philippines, thanks to Pet Express, which is located in the newly renovated SM Cubao.

My shih tzu Papi and I checked out the opening and were wowed by the selection and reasonable prices of their products. From local to imported kibble, treats, grooming products, clothes, and accessories, you and your dog or cat will end up buying more items than you initially planned.

Pet Express‘ first branch is in the General Aguinaldo Avenue side of SM Cubao, which is facing the Araneta Center. From that road, you can’t miss the shop’s bright colors. Open parking is also available across the street.

The shop has a wide, not to mention organized, selection of dog clothes and accessories. I have been on the lookout for a doggie barong for the longest time and was happy to find one in Pet Express for about P400.

They also carry a lot of dog food brands, from Alpo, to Pedigree, even to Hill’s and Royal Canin, among others. My dog eats Holistic Recipe Lamb and Rice and I was pleased to see that their large pack costs about less than P420, whereas other pet shops price the same  product for about P460.

Your dog will be in for a treat when they see racks upon racks of dog biscuits and other, well, treats

Aside from food and accessories, there are the essentials, such as medication, combs and brushes for the furballs, cages and crates, leashes, and drinking bottles. SM Advantage cardholders also earn reward points for purchases made at Pet Express. You’ll find it a challenge to leave the shop without giving in to the urge to buy things!

Papi also tried their grooming services. He came in at his most madungis, so I knew it was going to be a challenge to his groomer. One thing I really liked about their grooming section is the air-conditioned waiting area, where you can sit and watch either your pooch being pampered or the TV.

According to Pet Express‘ marketing manager Janine Ngo, they plan on opening more branches by 2010—possibly in Mall of Asia and SM Makati. But while these plans are still on the drawing board, dropping by SM Cubao in the meantime is definitely worth the trip.

  14. Marysol Pili Says:

It’s nice to know that there is something like this now. I’m so much a pet lover. I have 2 rabbits, 2 hamsters, 2 cats and 1 dog, now. Recently, I lost a chihuahua and felt so sad.The cause was the parvo virus. I was able to see Parvaid Vibactra Plus and Parvopet through the internet. But I don’t have a credit card to order these and according to my vet,it’s not available here in the Philippines. I hope pet shops will also sell these products so,owners like us will not suffer so much with the hospitalization and they will just suddenly die.
I hope you’ll continue to grow and supply more things that would keep our fluffy friend healthy and clean… More power!!!
