Stylebible.ph brings you the ultimate sample sale featuring super designers such as:  Kate Torralba, Rajo Laurel, Lulu Tan-Gan, Noel Crisostomo, Tippi Ocampo, Ronald Arnaldo, Puey Quinones, Lally Dizon, Martin Bautista, Czarina Villa, Eric Delos Santos, Charina Sarte and Mitch Dulce!  We spoke to Stylebible’s Isha Andaya to learn more about this exciting event.

Shopcrazy: Is this a regular Stylebible event?
Isha: It’s our first Designer Sample Sale but we’ve had two other trunkshows in the past–one in Christmas of 2008 and another during Summer 2009, which was tied up with Rustan’s and Culte Femme.

Shopcrazy: What do you aim to achieve?
Isha: Shopping events like this are a great way for readers to connect with the designers, brands, and e-tailers that they read about and see on the website. From personal experience, there are many products and designs that pique my interest online but it’s rare that there is a follow-through on contacting the designer/seller, or getting to the product. By getting all these wonderful fashion names under one roof, we’d like to create a new shopping experience for our readers, and in our own way, promote local fashion.

Shopcrazy: Tell us something about the mix of designers being featured at the sale?
Isha: Kate Torralba, one of Style Bible’s bloggers, actually came up with the idea. She mentioned that many designers like herself have a lot of samples (produced for fashion shows, shoots, and the like) or excess inventory that they might want to sell at a discounted price. (This is actually a popular practice in the US, and possibly other countries.)
We invited local designers that we have established relationships with; designers who possibly have available items to sell (not everyone had excess inventory to sell so they couldn’t participate, unfortunately); and many budding designers and e-tailers, like those who figure in The Mall. All of these designers design and produce their own pieces; we didn’t include resellers in this event.

Shopcrazy: What can shoppers expect? What can they get from this sale that they can’t get anywhere else?
Isha: Well, looking at the roster of participants (Rajo, Kate, Mich, Martin, Charina, Tippi, Eric, Hindy for Culte Femme, Viktor, and more), I can safely  say that these are designers whose pieces I’d love to have in my own closet. Being able to shop their merchandise at a discount is an even bigger plus. We aren’t charging an entrance fee, unlike other bazaars and shopping events, so people are free to come in and shop. We will also be providing fitting rooms so shoppers can try things on at their leisure.

Shopcrazy: Whose clothes are you excited to buy?
Isha: To be honest, I always end up shopping more than I should at Style Bible trunkshows and I’m really excited about poring over every designers’ booth. I haven’t met a good number of the participants and I’m really looking forward to getting to know all of them.

Designer Deluxe: Stylebible’s Ulitmate Sample Sale will be held on February 6, 2010 (Saturday) at the 2/F, The Forbes Town Center Showroom, 29th St. corner Rizal Drive Crescent Park West, Bonifacio Global City.
