Didn’t the song say “Give love on Christmas Day?” Here’s a new store that turns shopping into a philanthropic and environment-friendly activity.

In the quaint new EchoStore, all the shopping you’ll be doing will not only benefit Filipinos who are most in need of your help but also the environment. Yet don’t underestimate the products you’ll find in this so-called “one stop shop for sustainable living”: it in fact offers everything from chic bags and various skincare products to detergent, baby care products, colorful laptop bags and yoga mats, and even yummy treats you won’t find elsewhere.

You need not buy so many beauty products to have and maintain beautiful, flawless skin—especially if you’re on a tight budget. Just know the essentials and invest in the best possible products you can afford.

According to Dr. Jennifer Linder, PCA Skin chief scientist who was recently in the country to talk about the line’s skincare products, the two skin care products you must invest in are facial wash and sunscreen.

I tried PCA Skin’s version of these essentials: their facial wash for oily/problem skin and their Protective Hydrator with SPF 25. I also invested in their acne gel when I had a breakout emergency recently.

Once you see the cases of the recently launched line of Paul & Joe makeup, you would certainly want to keep them for a long time (maybe even after you’ve used up the pretty contents). The makeup brand’s 2008 Autumn Collection includes limited edition lipstick and face colour powder that comes in elaborate casing with delicate floral patterns that are so pretty to look at and fun to use.

If you would like to try The Spa’s services but find them a bit over your budget, why don’t you just go for their manicure or pedicure services? For those who want nail care in spa atmosphere, The Spa’s offerings are a real must-try.

After walking myself sore as I took advantage of the sales in Bonifacio High Street stores (yet still unwilling to spend over P500 bucks on a little bit of relaxation), I decided to try The Spa’s pedicure in an attempt to take shelter from that sweltering Saturday afternoon at Fort Bonifacio. The Spa Pedicure, P380, is their version of pedicure using Light Concept Nail products from Germany. I readied myself for at least 30 minutes of respite from the heat and bustle of the weekend crowd outside (which is unusually huge for BHS since the Eraserheads reunion concert was happening at the Fort Open Field that night).
