tokidoki-01.jpgThe first time I saw a tokidoki iSkin at the Apple Center at SM Cyberzone in Megamall, I seriously couldn’t get it off my mind. It had the same effect on me when I first saw a LeSportsac tokidoki bag in Rustan’s (a bag that I eventually bought thanks to, well, my boyfriend). I’m sure you’re aware of that nagging “Omigosh, I so got to have that!” feeling. Imagine that coupled with that longing feeling of wanting to bring home that cute shih-tzu in the pet shop window.

If you aren’t familiar with the tokidoki lifestyle brand, chances are, you’ve already seen it—and probably found it cute. It’s the really delightful Japanese inspired cartoon-y illustrations created ironically by the so-not-Japanese Italian graphic designer Simone Legno.

Sexy Yet Solid

krzr-k3.jpgThe awesome thing about slim mobile phones is it fits in even the tiniest evening purse. The downside? The thought of hearing cracking metal when someone—probably even you yourself—accidentally sits on such a thin, fragile gadget.

But slim doesn’t always mean flimsy in mobile phones. Take for instance the Motorola KRZR K3. Amazingly, the original Motorola RAZR is 10mm wider than the KRZR K3, but the latter doesn’t feel like clutching a metallic Magic Flakes cracker. This doesn’t mean, though, that the KRZR K3’s 103 x 42.3 x 16.3 mm housing looks as rugged—thus unfashionable—as it feels in one’s hand. Sure, handling it is reminiscent of stroking the biceps of a Cosmo Bachelor (compared to the first RAZR, which is like caressing the frail arm of some lanky man), but its shiny, sleek housing is unquestionably stylish in an I-love-wielding-this-good-looking-thing way.

nokia-6300.jpgWomen aren’t really known to be hardcore techies. I myself confess that I like certain gadgets solely for aesthetic reasons. Case in point: When I was going through my I-want-a-PowerBook stage, I wanted to get a silver iPod mini (even though I knew that I’d have to sacrifice bringing around with me most of my tunes) just because they’re color-coordinated. Sad, but true. And that’s just one of them. But that’s another story.

With the vast array of mobile phones out in the market, all competing for people to take notice, one thing remains. Just like in fashion, when you’ve got something that’s truly stylish, you needn’t scream for attention.

GorillapodWhen I first saw the name “Gorillapod”, I thought—what strange word for a gadget. But after I saw what it does, I understood why it was named so.

The Joby Gorillapod is a camera tripod that can “climb trees”! Unlike regular tripods that you can only prop on a flat surface, the Gorillapod can be wrapped around poles and trees, and can balance on uneven spots. It is small and lightweight enough to stuff into your bag, so it’s ideal to take along on trips. It is built to be both sturdy and flexible, and comes in three sizes for different camera types:
